I discovered it by accident and had the rarebit, it was fabulous. I will definitely go back again. It’s very helpful and has a friendly staff.

I stumbled upon this lovely little place completely by accident and popped in for lunch. I had a wonderful couscous salad and my husband had the goats’ cheese salad, both tasted lovely and were surprisingly filling. The puddings were very inviting, unfortunately we had run out of time at the car park, so had to dash off which was a great shame, but this will give us an incentive to revisit.

I recently experienced the joys of eating at the Cheese Society, Lincoln. Delicious food, freshly prepared and served by lively and competent staff. I had a Lincolnshire poacher’s dish - first class and my wife had brie and cranberry which she said was outstanding. We couldn't resist the puddings - nor will you. But does Kate exist, I ask myself? Why not, go and find out.

We visited the Lincoln based cheese shop and café and found the food and service good. There was a massive choice of cheese at a reasonable price. We had the monthly changing cheese board for two and ended up taking some home, such were the quantities. A little more bread would have been nice, but for £15 between two it was well worth it. I will certainly go again but perhaps not for a few months so as to prepare myself for cheese overload.

Review by Becky (18 February 2007)

We recently visited Lincoln on a short break. We made a point of visiting the cheese shop for lunch, as we are both big cheese eaters. We were not disappointed! The atmosphere was great and the menu amazing, just a shame it does not open for dinners, as we would have gone back for more. My partner had goats cheese risotto and I have twice baked gruyere soufflé, both were delicious. The menu is not just limited to cheese dishes, there is provision on the menu for the carnivores out there, plus the puddings are to die for. To top it all they sell an amazing selection of cheeses to take away, these are also available by mail order. Overall highly recommended.
