We attended a private lunch at The Goring. The food was superb as was the wine and the service and ambience was unbeatable. Thank you The Goring for giving us such a memorable meal.

I ate lunch on the terrace yesterday with some friends from overseas. We were given an excellent table overlooking the garden. The tranquil garden vista, affable but unobtrusive service and taste of the food was sublime - it was a sunny afternoon of gentility. We will definitely return to this oasis of calm in the centre of the city. Thank you for making our afternoon so special.

Great food, really warm attentive service.

On Saturday 9th December my daughter and I had drinks followed by pre-theatre dinner. The choice of menu was a delight; the dinner, service and attention to detail could not have been better and the whole experience of The Goring was something rarely found - wonderful and memorable. We will definitely be back, but this time with our husbands as we haven't stopped talking about it.

A lovely setting, old fashioned elegance, but service extremely slow, and very expensive. After waiting on Christmas Day for an hour to be served the usual turkey dinner, we were very disappointed. We felt an old fashioned apology might have been in order!

Having booked lunch for a party of Las Vegas realtor clients who had just four hours off a Southampton cruise ship this was, and is a memory of a delightful gastronomic experience.
In being a former hotel inspector, hotelier and VIP stewardess with the RAF I was very impressed with the whole ambiance. Whilst in residence the actor in 'Love Actually' was there who was perhaps intrigued as I had 'lost' my guests who had got on a tour bus prior.
The concierge calmed me with a chilled glass of Chardonnay and the words 'Madam, it is my job to look after you.
Well, duly, my guests arrived as I fretted to deadlines. All the staff were a delight in pulling off this near disaster caused as lunch was booked for 2 pm. We had a variety of starters, and the Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding, with a variety of sweets between us, wine, spring water. Sorry Michael Winner, this hotel does serve the right sort and chilled.
The ladies rooms are exquisite, and the whole ambiance and decor is of an Edwardian Mansion, as we might see where I live in Lakeland. It has the charm of the Sharrow Bay in elegance and is a place my future guests will come back to in my concierge services for visiting business clients. Truly amazing. The food and service were beyond my expectations at 100 per cent. Indeed, it is a place you can go and made to feel important whoever you are.
