As a regular diner in the Warwickshire area we feel privileged to have access to such an array of good restaurants, but we have just found a new favourite - the Falcon! A lot of time, effort and thought have been put into not just the menu but the surroundings which are welcoming and unique. The customer service was excellent and the food matched this. An outstanding all round experience.

I have been to The Falcon a couple of times, since it was refurbished last year. The new owners have done well and the interior of the pub and restaurant is significantly better than it used to be. I enjoyed both visits but particularly last night - the service was friendly and attentive but the real attraction for me was the food - the antipasti were very good. Well done, The Falcon - I'll be back!

A big thanks to all the management and staff at the Falcon for all their hard work in producing a fabulous Christmas Day Dinner and an unforgettable New Year’s Eve party. The food on both occasions was excellent very fresh and well presented. Well done everyone.

Review by Little Williams (19 December 2007)

I was stuck where to take my mother and father for their much loved Sunday roast, when I remembered a girl in the office mentioned the Falcon in Hatton had been refurbished. I called on the Saturday evening hoping for a booking the next day, the first available table was 14:30 pm and that was perfect as we like to eat slightly later.

I had visited the Falcon probably two years previously and promised myself I would never return, it was really run down and the food matched the décor. However pulling onto the packed car park and looking at the freshly painted exterior things seem to have taken a much needed change of direction. The interior of the Falcon has slightly more than typical gastro pub affair, and three main sections make up the building, a large bar area, and front and rear restaurants. The place was buzzing with families of all ages. We were greeted by a pleasant Australian girl who went through the diary to confirm our booking, and we were then taken swiftly to our table which was in the front restaurant.

The girl, Tai was her name gave us menus which included a fantastic wine list which was quickly snatched away by Father who thinks he is a bit of a connoisseur. The menu was quite small but I think covered all angles in what you would want on a Sunday. For starters both mother and I opted for the fish cake, while dad went for the Thai green mussels. For mains, mom and I went for the roast beef, while father went for the crispy pork belly. A bottle of Cheatau neuf de pape was brought over so all were happy so far.

The fishcakes were excellent, I would never think to put a poached egg with them but it really rounded the dish off. I received a reassuring nod from my father, which meant the mussels were also very good. Onto the mains, and they were monster size portions. My beef was perfectly rare and really tasty, and my father's pork in my opinion was a touch not crispy enough. However, he seemed to like it. The Yorkshire puddings were large and fluffy and the red wine gravy extremely tasty complete with homemade bits in it. The vegetables were extremely fresh, all in all a very satisfying roast dinner.

Pudding wise dad and I went for the plum crumble which was delicious however they were a bit tight with the custard. Mom went for the cheese board which was presented excellently and tasted fantastic, good choice mother. The bill came to a nudge over £100 which considering the quality of the food we thought was very reasonable. All in all then we thought it was very good and would definitely be visiting again. Watch out Mr. Salisbury, I think you have some stiff competition in the area. Well done.
