I eat regularly at The Fox and Hounds at Harlestone. The menu changes daily and the specials on it are always of an excellent standard, the chefs there manage to keep old British favourites alongside modern, Mediterranean dishes. I have never left the place unhappy, and although it’s a little expensive you do get what you pay for.

I have been eating at The Fox and Hounds for the last five years and the quality and quantity of the food has remained excellent. The prices are reasonable and there is a good variety as well.

Excellent food and consistently good service. It’s a little expensive, but always good quality and prompt service so we don’t mind paying extra. Necessary to pre-book as its always very popular.

We had not visited Fox and Hounds for a number of months and were pleasantly surprised at the changes that have been implemented. The choices on the dinner menu was varied and the portions, sensibly sized. The service was attentive and not rushed. It was good value for money as well. The duck was particularly good.

The food at this country gastropub was quite tasty and served quickly, but a little on the expensive side. The staff were pleasant and friendly and our advice would be to ask for a table in the main restaurant. We were seated in a walk way leading into the restaurant, which was dark with a lot of people walking by the table. I think the decor is a little over designed and perhaps tries a little too hard with its mixture of very dark traditional wood panelling with set against a contemporary light oak bar and beams, revealed stone and hardwood floors. It’s a busy restaurant, which on the whole is an enjoyable dining experience provided you book early to get the right table.

The décor is very nice and the food is good, but quite overpriced - £10.50 for haddock, chips and pea puree, or £5 plus for a glass of white wine. The waiting staff were pleasant and friendly but wanted to move us on quickly. However, this place was very busy on a Wednesday evening, so perhaps the three of us are in a minority.
