The food was cold and bad. It was too salty and above the normal Chinese food salt level. The rice was the only warm thing on our table. The prawn dishes were more stuffed with vegetables than prawns. The environment was very unattractive with no decoration or ‘feel good’ factors. It looks more like an inexpensive takeaway than a dine-in. The members of staff were very boring and not so helpful.

This is an extremely good Chinese restaurant at a reasonable price. The place got off to a bad start as the lady at the ‘front desk’ was very unfriendly and uninviting - almost coming across as annoyed that we had dared come to their restaurant for a meal. This was the only downside to our visit. Once seated, which did not take long, we were greeted by the much friendlier table staff who provided excellent service all night. The food took a while to arrive, though it was peak time on a Saturday night so not surprising, but the atmosphere in the place was decent, could benefit from some music though, so it was a nice social setting.
The food itself was magnificent. The variety of starters were all good quality and all the meals came through piping hot and cooked beautifully. The food served to the tables around us filled the restaurant with a beautiful scent and it was all beautifully presented. For two people, a bumber two-course meal with a couple of non-alcoholic drinks cost £38 so considering the quality of the food - very reasonable. We would have saved 10% had we paid cash but alas, we did not carry enough on us. All in all, a good meal and definitely recommended to all!

Golden Palace is more like Copper Palace.
Food - Lukewarm
Service - Had to ask five times for some soya sauce
- None of the staff were smiling
- It was difficult to understand some of the staff
- Food took along time to arrive on our table
- Staff did not look like they wanted to help (very slapdash)
Bill - Service charge was included (which is a con as the service was appalling)
I will never go back there again and will never ever recommend the place to anyone.
For an excellent Chinese Restaurant try Man Chui on the Kenton Road (five minutes away) and ask for Ben. Now that is a restaurant I highly recommend.

Although our bill was quite high, the standard of the food was impeccable. A must is the hot and sour soup and the crispy duck. The service was excellent, the staff were very accommodating. This restaurant is definitely somewhere to go for a special occasion!
