I accidentally found the Grainger Rooms, whilst looking for a private dining venue. The staff are assiduous, the food is fabulous, and the venue is most accommodating. Nothing appeared to be a problem, and they even catered for two awkward eaters. All of my party enjoyed the evening and have said that they will return and so will I. Thank you again.

Words cannot quite do justice to the exceptional experience that is dining at Grainger Rooms. The staff are friendly and attentive, the décor is simple yet delightful, and the wine list is of exemplary quality. The food is utterly outstanding, and I doubt that any item on the menu would be cooked to anything less than perfection. I will certainly be paying the restaurant further visits whenever I am in Newcastle, and challenge anyone to find a better eatery in the city. I urge anyone who enjoys exquisite, locally sourced British food to make a reservation as soon as possible.

The food there is consistently good. The bread, the ingredients, the flavours, and textures are all excellent, and the wine list is well-judged, and fairly priced. The service is friendly, and the general ambience very agreeable. Good by any standards and pretty good value - especially the prix fixe menu express. This is a place definitely worth supporting.

I was so impressed with the meal we had there that I have already recommended the restaurant to friends. The food was excellent and I was so pleased to find a restaurant serving quality British food in the heart of the city. I was also informed that all of the produce is locally sourced. It is very comforting to know that in today's climate that someone is willing to go the extra mile and use locally sourced produce. I will certainly book a table again in the very near future.

I came to the Grainger Rooms on Friday for a free lunch as part of a promotion and I was very impressed with the food - it was so tasty and I'll definitely be eating there again. The menu is simple yet effective - it's the kind of British food which Newcastle is crying out for.

I attended a Christmas Party at the Grainger Rooms in Dec 2007. I can give nothing, but praise the food and the staff too. Everything was excellent, and the service was beyond what I would have expected for such a large group. The only minor negative aspect that I can point is the preparation of the bread rolls, which could have done better with a tad more salt. Nonetheless, I would certainly recommend this restaurant - one of the best I have been to in Newcastle.

I went there for the set lunch and it was lovely. It has a nice, relaxed atmosphere. It has quality but unpretentious British food. They use high quality ingredients. I would certainly be dining there again.

I went out for an amazing meal at the Grainger Rooms for a very special occasion. I was delighted when I first walked into the restaurant. The décor is a refreshing change to the usual restaurants I go to. It's beautiful, Georgian style, elegant and is eye-catching. I had a lovely meal, the fish cakes for my starters were a delicious beginning to the meal, to follow I had the finest local pork I have ever tasted, and my dessert of apple crumble was divine. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful in our wine selection. The whole evening was very enjoyable and I would recommend it to everyone.

That was a great place. An excellent menu that catered for all tastes, we were spoilt for choice. The food was of high quality, showcasing local produce, and the whole meal delicious. The restaurant was very busy when we visited, but had a lovely atmosphere and the service given, by attentive and efficient staff, was excellent. We would recommend a visit and definitely would be returning.
