This is a very stylish alternative to some of the more run of the mill Italian restaurants around. They have a great choice of food and wine, and you can go tapas style and order a selection of dishes, they do half portions as well, or you can keep it conventional with standard starter and main course options. We ate from the à la carte menu when we visited earlier this month, but noticed there was a good value set menu too. Read the description of your chosen dish carefully, if you're greedy, chances are you'll need a side dish.

I visited The Grill Room for the first time this month and thought it was fabulous; it makes a change from all the drab Italian restaurants - mainly chains - serving the English version of Italian food. The Grill Room at the chop houses is really authentic and makes a refreshing change. The fillet steak was exceptional and the chocolate amarone dessert is to die for. Décor is mainly the same as before, but it feels a lot cosier than the chop house, great place for quick lunch as the starter pastas can be doubled as a main course. I will definitely go again.

We dined at The Grill Room at The Olive Press (previously The Chop House) on Friday, 23rd January, 2009. The menu is distinctly Italian and the service was fantastic. We started with veal salad and tuna carpaccio followed by main courses of veal Milanese and sea bass. The food was superb, tasty and well cooked. We finished with pancakes and panacotta. Having dined at The Chop House previously, the new menu is now more varied and includes a few different dishes.
