Gusto offers good quality, value for money food, and the services of very attentive staff. We went early on a Friday evening when it wasn't too busy. Would recommend a visit.

I would strongly recommend paying this restaurant a visit. My partner and I walked in around 9.30pm on a Friday evening; we were greeted by a really friendly waiter who asked us if we would mind having a drink at the bar whilst he found us a table. Within 10 minutes he had us a table upstairs looking right over the Quayside. We ordered bruschetta and garlic bread to start, which was to die for. Then our mains were some sort of spicy pasta with pepperoni. The food was not only delicious and deserved ten out of ten but the service was excellent - very friendly staff and outstanding value for money. I will definitely be visiting this place again and soon.

Meet the grumpiest, rudest waiter in Newcastle. If it wasn't for the fact that it cost me £150 for the privilege it would have been quite funny. The food was okay, but be quick choosing or you will have grumpy looming over you. Whatever you do don't ask for the ‘Rioja alternative’, as described in the wine list. You will be abruptly told it is not a Spanish restaurant. Also be careful ordering Pinot Grigio as you may be unwittingly upgraded to the £33 quid a bottle. Still, the atmosphere was okay, and the other members of staff were friendly enough.

I recommended the restaurant to my friends and the five of us have been not disappointed - great food and fantastic wine. One of the mates is Italian and he said the food is excellent. So, as far as I can say everything has been really great, unfortunately except of one thing, the waiter accidentally forgot to cancel a bottle of wine on our receipt because it wasn't on stock anymore. So we paid one bottle too much. Said, isn't it? But I would go there again, anytime! Try the cocktails from the bar.

After a hard evening of go karting I needed cheering up as I brought up the rear in the competition. What a fantastic surprise Gusto was with a wonderful buzzing atmosphere and delightful service. The food was prompt and tasty with wine and beer to suit the occasion. The bill, particularly as I am tight, was gentle especially considering the number. I strongly recommend it.

We went there for the first time on Saturday and at first I thought it is rather huge. Delicious food and excellent wine, especially the Riesling, made me forget that soon. Maybe a bit too crowded on the weekend but I did not really care. I really recommend the cocktails from the bar. It was absolutely lovely stuff. Thank you.

I visited Gusto on Saturday night with a group of eight fellow go-karters. I won the karting and luckily we had booked this place - fantastic atmosphere and service. The food was great and I had a T-bone, which nicely fitted into my rather large stomach. We made room for few bottles of house wine as well. All of us had a great time and we will be back soon.

My wife and I ate at Gusto, and found that the atmosphere and surroundings were first class. However, when the food arrived we were a little disappointed. The mushrooms and Italian sausage were dry and overdone. The fillet of beef with garlic and chilli was extremely tough. The place was very busy yet I must commend the service as it was first class. If I visit Newcastle again, I’m afraid I won’t be dining at Gusto.

I recently visited Newcastle on a weekend with my girlfriend and stumbled upon this restaurant by accident. We were warmly welcomed the moment we walked through the door and despite not booking in advance were swiftly seated. The service was excellent and the food superb. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly and we both had an enjoyable evening. I would recommend this restaurant.

I have eaten in Gusto several times since it reopened and it always has a fantastic atmosphere. The menu is varied and always tastes great and the staff couldn't be more helpful. Try one of the cocktails in the bar and let the bartenders impress you with their skills. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant to family, friends and colleagues alike.
