Ha! Ha! Bar & Canteen - Liverpool Reviews

We visited the Ha Ha in October this year. We have eaten out in Liverpool for over ten years, and have never encountered such awful food and service. My husband ordered the pork chop; when you did find the meat through all the fat it was red and the chips were under cooked. In all my years of eating out I have never had to send back a meal until today. The service was awful, there was only one person serving, and we had to wait for fifteen minutes for our bill. We finally went to the bar to pay, and had to wait a further twenty minutes to pay it.

The service was bad and the food was mediocre. They are probably trying to be something they aren’t. A restaurant cocktail bar that has no ice and bottles of wine served without coolers but buckets of water offered as a solution. The tables were sticky as well.

We ordered a starter to share, which was almost £12 and consisted of four slices of bread and eight small slices of meat - two pieces of salami among four is not good value. We asked for more bread and had to pay nearly £2 for more small slices. One of us had pasta with seafood, which was inedible. After asking for the manager, it was deducted from the bill following an argument. The food was generally overpriced, but the members of staff were helpful.

The food was ok, nothing special but acceptable. Service defied belief. We encountered two of the staff. When we questioned the extended wait for the food we were met with denial and aggression, and then told it was our fault for ordering a starter for one person out of the nine at the table. Try somewhere else.
