I have been several times to this perfectly located pub and have enjoyed these visits thoroughly. The general manager there is fantastic and it’s not easy staying on top of a business of that size and diversity. Well done and keep it up. I will be back!

I made a tentative reservation at Harts after a couple of iffy reviews when it first opened. My fears were short lived. The food was simple and sensational and the service was fantastic. I'm quite a picky eater, certain things on the side, something steamed instead of fried - you know the type, and never once has my request been met with anything but a big smile and the food exactly as I ordered. I now go at least twice a month and love the atmosphere, both in winter and summer - it's a great success and the best restaurant in the Surbiton-Kingston area in my opinion.

Review by TNT (6 May 2008)

We visited Hart's Boat Yard early one evening and the bar service was a lot quicker than usual. It was one of the warmest nights of the year and I had an excellent pint of Timothy Taylor and my companion had Sauvignon Blanc. Amazingly, we got a table outside and were entertained by the sailing dinghies tacking up and down the river. What could possibly spoil an evening such as this - slow service and the kitchen running out of green beans, chicken Kiev and various other dishes. The waiting staff, who cannot be blamed for the ills of the kitchen, were very apologetic and waived our bill. There were not enough kitchen staff to cook for a restaurant with so many covers. It is disappointing as this is an excellent building with a great location.
