Last weekend my mum and I had a fantastic evening at The Hole in the Wall. The staff were friendly and efficient and helped to add to the lovely atmosphere in the restaurant. The food was simply scrumptious and really well cooked, and so many compliments to the chefs. I would definitely go back.

I love eating there at lunch time, but my friend and I lately enjoyed a wonderful evening meal. I had Somerset 21-day aged steak cooked to exact spec and my friend had fresh sea bass fillets with asparagus-what a treat! The wine list is huge and they have their own house cocktails; we had a lot of fun trying to figure out what was in the secret recipe 'Perry Smith'. The cost is just right for the special à la carte menu as the portions are huge and the ingredients are of top quality, we'll be back.

I am writing this review because I had such a lovely evening at the Hole in The Wall, it was a special evening for me and I want to congratulate the staff for the excellent service and the chefs for the excellent food. A wonderful experience, thank you.

It was a hard choice between Hole in the Wall and Clarkes Restaurant- Hole in the Wall won, I have to be totally honest when I say that the setting of the restaurant was fantastic and the food was equally as good nevertheless the lack of quality in service overshadowed all of the above, which was a real shame. For me, service is everything! We were waiting 10 minutes when we arrived for a drink (it was not busy) and we were left unattended for 20 minutes with no drink at all. Our champagne cooler was knocked over by the waiter, water spattered up my leg and my husband had to move so the floor could be wiped - most inconvenient when you're eating and then you have to wait 20 minutes for a top up. Ultimately, I cannot complain about the food but everything comes as a package and this restaurant did not quite have all the elements. Sorry.

I went there for an anniversary dinner with my girlfriend and was really pleased with the intimate atmosphere. The food was excellent and the service exceptional. My partner is a coeliac and the staff didn't spare any effort in finding out what she could eat, or adapting a dish slightly. This even extended to dessert, which is usually not possible at most places we have eaten out. I really look forward to eating there again.

One of the most organised restaurants I have ever dined in. The Hole in The Wall gave me and my guests a night to remember for a very long time, I booked forty of my business associates for a meal. I started organising it two months before the date of the meal, my first port of contact was, Will the manager who was very confident and knew his stuff I had many questions and queries, which he dealt with very efficiently, from this point on I knew we were in good hands. As I thought the night went so well, all my business friends were very impressed with the restaurant, food, service and wine. I know The Hole in The Wall is being talked about among my friends and they will all be recommending the restaurant.

The Hole in The Wall is still the best restaurant for me in Bath, I have been a few times over the last six months usually only me and my partner. On this occasion I booked for a party of fifteen. We all have had a wonderful time and I made the booking with Will, who is the manager there. He made me feel that everything was under control. From the moment we arrived at the restaurant till we left we were made to feel like we were the only people in the restaurant, and it was a Saturday night. They were very busy, the food was fabulous and the service was very attentive and the manager is very hands on when he took the booking. I thought he would be sitting in an office and I would never meet him but he was there to greet everyone as they came in, and also helped with the service of our table. An amazing experience and we will be going again.

We booked a table for 8 pm on a cold wet Jan night but were pleased to find a busy but cosy restaurant, with a modern decor. The greeting was warm and friendly, while the menu was brief but covered most tastes.
We started with a smoked chicken mousse and garlic mushrooms on toast, generous portions both very nice. I had a Aberdeen steak well done served with garlic mashed potato while she chose pork loin served on a bed of mashed potato, we had a side dish of greens, again very generous portions The beef was done to perfection while the pork was full of flavour.
The service was efficient, while discreet, overall a very nice experience and would eat there again, it offered good value for money.

I have just had one of the best lunches in my life. I arranged for a large group of friends to catch up 10 years after we graduated. From booking with Patrick to paying the bill, we were made to feel special. Homemade breads and a great value set meal means I will definitely be back; good job everyone at the Hole in the Wall.
