I think the Elm Tree is possibly the best restaurant I have ever eaten in. The members of staff are friendly and very welcoming, and the menu and food are exceptional. I have eaten there a few times and have never been disappointed. Overall, it’s fantastic.

Poor quality and poor value for money – it was very disappointing.

We have eaten at the Elm Tree several times and can highly recommend it. It is not inexpensive, but then the food is of a high quality and the members of staff are friendly. We even celebrated my wife's birthday there and all were excellent in their helpfulness, and willingness to accommodate our requirements.

We went to The Inn at the Elm Tree and found it very disappointing. There were no seats for us in the bar area, and at a point, we even ended up sitting on the stairs. The menu is not satisfactory for non-meat eaters. The soup I tried was very salty and so I could not finish it. The prices are high as per the food standards. We had booked because the South Wales Echo gave a good write up and talked highly about the portions of the Inn. But quite the reverse was true as the portions were very small. We certainly would not go there again.

That was a very disappointing evening at the Elm Tree. I know many locals who have enjoyed an excellent lunch there and the place was recommended for our birthday night out, but we certainly would not be going to the Elm Tree again. Apart from the menu being exactly the same as our last visit five months ago (which was also below standard), the food was of exceptionally poor quality. This may be a five star Inn but in my opinion, the restaurant is not worthy of even a single star.

Visited the Elm Tree for a Xmas Sunday lunch with my family. To say I was disappointed was an understatement. The food was overpriced and of a below average quality and we were made to wait over 3/4 hour past our booking time for the table.

On the phone they told us the restaurant welcomed families and children yet the establishment only has one high chair.

The Elm Tree always had a good reputation but since their conversion to a hotel they seem to have sold out and gone for increased takings over quality. I will be taking my custom elsewhere from now on.
