I went there last night with my wife and had a fantastic meal; I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. The food was amazing and the staff were really friendly and courteous and to top it all off the price was incredibly reasonable. We will definitely be going back very soon and telling everyone about it. You can go there and you won't be disappointed.

We actually gathered at the Inn on the Lake after my father's funeral service. The manageress could not have been more helpful in planning the buffet and other arrangements, which was very warmly received. We had a separate area for our party and were very well looked after. I'd recommend it for a function. We were concerned about the noise levels but it was fine and the music was turned off in our part of the venue.

The setting was excellent, food was good, and so was the decor. The only complaint that I have is the high level of background noise, which makes me hesitant to go there again.

We fancied a relaxed evening out after calling in for a drink a few nights before and being impressed with the atmosphere and décor we were warmly greeted and chose an excellent table for two. The service was warm and welcoming. This was the first night of their winter menu from which we chose the seared pigeon with beetroot and citrus orange salad which was excellent, and we were also offered breads with a balsamic vinegar and olive oil dip, a good touch. For mains we chose rib-eye steak and calves liver on spring onion mash-fantastic fresh quality ingredients well prepared and cooked and full of flavour. We shared a dessert of poached pears with crème freche, which was very good, and the slight delay was covered by an apology whilst we waited-no problem. As a couple who are fanatical about our food and the quality of service we could not fault any of it. The restaurant manager was friendly and informative about the new chef who has been there about three months. Please give the restaurant a go. You will not be disappointed we have paid a lot more for much less.

Wow, what can I say this place is the most friendly, enjoyable hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The staff are always polite and will bend over backwards to accommodate your needs. They have just recently changed their menu and Head Chef Phil Smith has done a fantastic job with it, the food is seasonal, full of flavour and you can just taste how fresh it is, really is a truly great find.

The hotel is modern, clean and has really comfortable beds. I’ve stayed in 3 different rooms since I’ve started using them and they all have the same facilities, flat screen TVs, SKY, showers, tea and coffee making facilities and they are cleaned daily.

Overall I’d give this place 10/10, highly recommended.

Since the refurbishment I have become a regular here. The staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is buzzy and relaxed. The food is varied and of good quality especially since the new chef started recently. Even if we don't book, they bend over backwards to accommodate us and they are great with larger parties! I would highly recommend the Inn on the Lake for a fun, affordable and quality meal or drink out.

Great food, great setting, lovely wine and pleasant relaxed atmosphere. Really enjoyed our Sunday lunch and would happily go back again. Was nice to go into the lovely loungy area in the bar after lunch to let the meal settle. Would recommend to anyone who lives reasonably near by.

Have eaten here a few times now and could never fault it. Decor gorgeous, relaxed atmosphere and amazing food. And to solve the toilet mystery, the F is for female and the D is for disabled........if you go to the back of the restaurant you'll find an M for male!

The decor and menu looked impressive and the non-smoking restaurant was a definite plus point for us. The food was good although the service was quite slow. For example no-one checked to ensure we were happy and/or needed more drinks after our mains arrived; this was surprising given that the restaurant was half empty and there appeared to be plenty of staff 'milling' about. However the food was good so we will probably return again. Therefore I would rate food 8/10, setting/decor 9/10, service a sloppy 6/10.

Sunday Lunch - 3 adults, 3 small children. Lovely pizzas for kids (hold the basil). Delicious grilled goats cheese salad and scallops. Very good roast beef for mains (even too much for us to eat). One of the best sticky toffee puddings ever! Really liked the surroundings. Would highly recommend.
