Being a vegetarian I find it quite difficult to find good food when eating out as all the food is somewhat generic. Not eating fish normally limits the choice to one or two dishes. My partner and I recently ate at the King of Prussia and were amazed at the amount of dishes which were suitable for vegetarians. For starter I had a smoked mushroom dish, the flavour was incredible, I followed this up with a seasonal vegetable risotto which was absolutely delicious but unfortunately I couldn't finish it all as the portion sizes where massive. After a long break my partner and I managed a dessert and I am glad we did, the lovely waitress suggested the cheesecake, and the best we ever had. There were around 6 vegetarian choices to choose from; for once I found it hard to choose. For meat eaters the variance is staggering, from venison to scallops all made with fresh local ingredients and presented to a high standard. The meals were of good value, all I would warn was bring your appetite as the portions are massive. We would definitely go again.

The Sunday lunch was excellent and extraordinary value/relaxed interior/attentive friendly staff. I would definitely recommend foodie families and friends.

Dined at K.O.P and had a lovely meal. There were six people in the party, and food was delicious. Only complaint is slow bringing out vegetables /salads etc.

We went to the King of Prussia for our Sunday lunch with some trepidation, given its mixed reviews. Nevertheless, apart from a long wait for our main courses (probably due to choosing risotto rather than a standard Sunday roast), the food was excellent. The risotto was flavoursome, as was my husband's beef. With two courses costing £12.95, the desserts were a must and the chocolate Seville mousse and the raspberry bavarois were both delightful. We wouldn't hesitate to return if in the area.

We have eaten several times at TKOP and each time the food has been fabulous! I totally disagree with the negative comments by the others on this board, as we can only sing the chef's praises!

We visited the King of Prussia for Sunday lunch for my mothers birthday celebration in May. The occassion was a total disaster and we will not be returning. Our starters were average and totally forgettable, but it was the main course that shall always be ingrained in my memory as the worst I have ever been served. Four of us had the roast beef, one the lamb. When put in front of me, the beef and potatoes did not look at all appetising, and I found the beef very tough and tastless, and the potatoes hard, chewy and stale. The accompanying dishes of vegetables were all lukewarm. Not wanting to spoil the occassion for my mother and guests I did not complain at this point, but when I tried to chew another piece of beef the rancid taste overwhelmed me - I had to spit it out on the plate, as did my hudsband at exactly the same time. At this, my mother and guest confessed they thought the beef had tasted very 'gamey' and had not liked to say anything, instead smothering it in horseradish to disguise the taste. We asked for the plates to be removed, and were offered an alternative, but we had lost all faith in the chef's ability and declined. The waitress took our phone numbers and business cards saying the manager would call us when he returned on the Tuesday. No such phone call came.
An extremely disappointing experience.

I completely agree with Victoria! We had high expectations of a restaurant owned by Phil Vickery and were extremely disappointed. The service was awful and the staff were clearly not trained in the menus or how to treat customers. Our whole meal was rushed and we were served our main course seconds after we had completed our starter so our main course had obviously been sat waiting for us to finish our starters. The food was very disappointing and the steak was inedible which was unbelievable as it was priced at £19.99. Our complaints that evening were greeted with a dismissive response and the staff then avoided us for the remaining time we were in the restaurant until, of course, we had to pay the bill!
It certainly was not the friendly and welcoming atmosphere that it had been advertising itself as. I complained directly to the restaurant in writing and have received no reply which shows even more that they do not care about their customers or in attracting new customers through recommendations. I would certainly not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

As my husband was working on St Valentine's evening, we visited TKOP last night, and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the staff friendly but not "in your face" every few minutes - and the food! The food was delightful, especially the chips! When was the last time you tasted chips cooked in beef dripping? Sublime. We'll definitely be visiting again, and next time we'll be taking friends along with us.

Despite the rave reviews and beautiful decor we found our visit to the King of Prussia to be extremely disappointing. The food was poor and the service was slow and lackadaisical. I had the warm mushroom salad to start with - it was soggy and contained too much balsamic vinegar - as a result the shallots tasted more like pickled onions.
For my main course I had the vegetarian option - the bean and potato cake with poached egg. This was warm and came topped with a thick tasteless dollop of hollandaise sauce which was so thick it resembled mayonnaise. The egg beneath was so undercooked that when I put my fork into the dish, the plate immediately became awash with cold egg yolk. My companion, who had the steak, found it extremely tough and told our waitress (the garlic butter was also overpowering) - and were amazed when she said nothing, just walked off. We then had to wait over 45 minutes for dessert (which never arrived - we asked for the bill to come with the desserts as we'd waited so long, instead the waitress printed off the bill and again just walked off when we commented on how long we'd waited).
In fact the only good part of the meal was the wine, bread and the mange tout! The rest was very disappointing.
