Ten of us ate at Petit Poisson last Saturday and our ages ranged from ninety one to eighteen months. We had a lovely meal, finding it difficult to choose from the varied menu. The service was great giving us plenty of time to enjoy our meal. They were also aware of the needs of the children aged eighteen months and three years. We shall certainly be back.

My husband and I have eaten there a number of times and found the food and service to be excellent. The moules mariniéres were perfect and my whole sea bass was beautifully cooked. The strawberry and rhubarb crumble and a passion fruit crème brûlée were both worth breaking the diet for! A charming little place and the lovely Valerie who looks after you so well is charming too.

We have eaten at Le Petit Poisson on several occasions and have always enjoyed excellent food and service. We would recommend it to anyone. The food is always fresh and beautifully served although choice can be difficult as it all sounds so nice always. We will return again.

This is one of the best finds; the food is excellent with lovely and friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere. My wife and I are great fans. What a gem this place is.

I'm fairly new to Herne Bay and have tried most of the local restaurants there and some in Whitstable. My friend and I ate at Le Petit Poisson recently for the first time and both agreed that it was the best fish restaurant we have come across. We were extremely impressed with the menu and our choices proved to be excellent - Dover sole and sea bass for main course. I am used to being served a small portion of sea bass in most London restaurants but at Le Petit Poisson I was presented with a whole, massive fish, which was very tasty too. They are definitely not mean with their portion sizes. Even my starter was actually large enough to be a main course. You really do get value for money there. For a three course meal with wine it set us back a mere £28 each, which was very reasonable for the quality of food and service we received. It might be a tiny restaurant with not much room - let's call it cosy - but it way exceeded our expectations of a local restaurant. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the Herne Bay area.

We went to Le Petit Poisson on Saturday and what a lovely place it is. The food is excellent and we will definitely go back as there are so many different fish dishes to choose from. The wine is reasonably priced and the service is good.

The food was great and so were the prices. During weekends the service can be clumsy and slow – I had to wait twenty minutes before drinks were offered last weekend. I suggest you skip coffee; they make a decent black but nothing else. Desserts are good on a positive note.

After reading reviews, I don’t think you can go wrong with this little place. Twice baked crab soufflé, as a starter was excellent and so were the other starters. Our main meal of mussels was inedible, as too much salt was added. The family main meal of fish and fish stew was okay, but nothing to write home about. I was quite disappointed in general but maybe the chef had an ‘off day’. The place seems popular as there are many people eating there. It has a nice personal touch but I would not visit again.

It is a wonderful restaurant with smashing food at great prices and a friendly atmosphere. Coming from Whitstable, its good to have found a fish restaurant that matches the food there but at a more reasonable price. We’ll be making this a regular eating place.

The food is fine, you get what you pay for.It attracts a certain clientele and I think is not for real foodies, who would be better off at Whitstable.
