It was disappointing to find that our reservation had not been captured and we were seated in the entrance, rather than the restaurant itself. The food was excellent although the portion sizes were again disappointing - tiny crab cakes and small sea bass. The saving grace was the service and the friendly staff, who apologised about the booking and gave our first drink on the house.

My boyfriend and I went here for a romantic evening meal following a recommendation. It was superb; the food was fantastic and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. A thoroughly enjoyable evening, we will be going back.

I went to Livebait as a lunchtime treat to make a day complete after trying on wedding dresses, and it didn't fail to do just that! The service was friendly and hospitable and the atmosphere, soothing and inviting. The food was perfect with a wide choice available. The bill came to about £55 for two of us, including a good bottle of wine. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Livebait as a special, relaxing place to eat with a huge variety of fish dishes cooked as they are meant to be.
