I visited Liverpool's Cathedrals and the restaurant proved the ideal place for lunch. The quality of the produce and the technical quality of cooking were both top-notch. The wine list was wide-ranging and excellent and the sommelier was expert and sensitive. The service was polished and discreet. At £25 for the three-course prix fixe it was unbeatable value. With the kitchen in that form, we couldn't understand why it has no Michelin stars.

An excellent restaurant in Liverpool. Nice setting, service is good and the waiters know the dishes well and are eager to explain to the customer. Food is fantastic, from pre-starter to dessert, from the look to the taste, it is perfect and professional. The dessert is even better. The wine list is amazing, there are lots of choices of wine, fine wines and fortified wines from around the world, with 20 of them by the glass, dozen of half bottles and magnums, I am sure you could find one to match your dishes. The price is not cheap but it is worth more. I have been there three times in two months. About 50 quid per head, including a three course meal, glass of wine, and coffee.

I could not recommend this restaurant for vegetarians. A group of us, including 3 vegetarians, went recently. The vegetarian options were very limited (1 per starter/main) and very expensive for what they were (same price as the meat/fish courses).

What was disgraceful however was serving a foie gras amuse bouche after we had told our waiter they were not meat eaters. The carnivores in the group had a good meal and the wine was excellent and reasonably priced.

This is an expensive restaurant that is good for meat eaters but vegetarians should stay away.
