For those who haven't been there for a long time things have changed quite a lot; a great team welcomes you in the pub, the décor is just stunning and everything is made to please diners. The atmosphere is nice and warm and the members of staff are friendly and cute. They serve great pub food with a French twist but definitely English. There is a lovely fireplace, gorgeous garden and conservatory, which is my favourite. You can even talk to all the chefs; there are various menus and specials on the black board, and a great wine list with lots of different beers. The Sunday roast is a nice choice, I had a nice rib eye beef with all the trimmings and a fish gratin to die for, nice dessert and a great smile from our waiter. What a nice Sunday! Go for it, it’s a great place.

I just started to go to this pub in the last few months and am pleased to say that I've found my new local. I have always lived in the area but never ventured in - I'm pleased I did. The friendly members of staff shake my hand and greet my girlfriend with a kiss. The food is stunning and priced accordingly. We are now planning to have our engagement party there in a few months time.

I agree with the previous review. This place is pricey and not what it used to be.

This once local gem in Dartmouth Park now offers ordinary food and wine. The staff are decent but the food is pricey.

Review by Matt (3 January 2008)

We went to this pub in November and were so impressed by the food and service that I booked my family Christmas meal out in their function room. There were twenty five of us in total, and we were difficult, with numbers changing every day, picky eaters trying to choose dishes, and what did the manager say? Nothing at all, he was polite, helpful, even funny, and made our evening. I can’t wait to go back. Thank you all, especially Adam, for making our Christmas.

Review by G. Hamilton (23 March 2007)

This pub has recently been refurbished (2007) and has been transformed from a good gastropub to one that doesn't know whether it's a pub or a restaurant.

We waited a full 20 minutes before our first drink arrived - in spite of three requests. The waitress was slow, had to be asked at every turn for any kind of service. Nothing was offered or suggested, the dishes of the day on the board weren't offered and the food was mediocre. My main course was pretty tasteless - the food was all there but there was no flavour. We weren't offered dessert and had to ask for menus after 20 minutes waiting and the coffee arrived before the dessert (huh?). I thought the service was dreadful and the food not worth the wait.
