They have the best fish and chips I have ever eaten. It was heaven. I would recommend going there; it is worth waiting in the queue.

I love Whitby and being an old punk rocker I stay at that gothic B and B called Bats and Broomsticks where they have coffins and the like all over the place. My trip isn't complete without visiting The Magpie as it's a real friendly place - and they even look after trendy vegetarians like my good self. There you go - and I didn't even mention my No.1 smash hit 'Happy Talk'.

Magpie Cafe came highly recommended to me from my many work colleagues in New Zealand and my partner's family. We came here last year while on holiday from New Zealand and what a fantastic experience - superb food and brilliant staff. I'm so excited to come back to Whitby in 3 weeks and this time I'm bringing my mother along to this fantastic restaurant. We're booked in for lunch and dinner. I can't wait to show this place off to her.

We’re just back from a great short break in Whitby, the highlight of which was eating twice at the Magpie Café. The menu was good but we had to have the superlative haddock and chips, which were the best ever. The members of staff were friendly and service was excellent. We took the regular portion, which meant we were so full we couldn't manage pudding. It's just a really nice place to go.

It is February and cold, I have just booked to return to Whitby this summer. The call of the Magpie Cafe is one of the main reasons we return to Whitby every year - the best fish and chips I have ever tasted. Once we have sampled this restaurant’s delights we return home knowing we have been spoilt.

Every time we visit Whitby we make a point of dining at the Magpie at least once. Their fresh and often inventive fish dishes are fantastic, the members of staff are wonderful, and the décor is cosy and inviting. For fish and seafood lovers this delightful restaurant is a haven. I highly recommend the Magpie Café to anyone looking for good food in Whitby.

The food was perfect, worth a very short queue and didn’t have to wait long. Also, it was really good value for money and not expensive compared to other places in Whitby. The inside is nice as well. The staff would probably look better in a uniform or apron.

I have just been to the Magpie for the first time and it was well worth the two hour journey from Leeds. They serve the best fish and chips I've ever had and my family and I will be going back very soon.

This place is simply the best. I have been going to Whitby for ten years and always go to Magpie Cafe. The quality has never changed and the size of the meals is large. I cannot comment on the puddings because I've been too full to eat one.

They serve the best fish and chips ever. If I could choose the best chippie, it would be Magpie Cafe.
