What a find! Clever menu with dishes perfectly executed and served by the charming young staff who know what they are doing. It’s great value and the décor is calm and effective as well. It will become a firm favourite as the sister restaurant, The Great House at Lavenham, has already become.

This is a fantastic restaurant and my favourite in Bury. It is excellent for, though not restricted to, fish and highly recommended.

If you want great service and food, lovely fish, charm in abundance, go there. I have eaten all over the UK and this place beats many establishments with Michelin Stars. It is reliable and I keep going back.

A friend recommended Maison Bleue and we went in for lunch on a sunny Saturday. The food was fabulous - we asked to share a starter of eight langoustines - and they were brought out already arranged onto two plates, and were superb. Then I had a whole sea bass beautifully cooked, my wife went for seared scallops. The food overall was really good, and the house wine of very good quality as well - not always the case!

Absolutely a first class restaurant providing something for everyone, In fact it was hard to choose what to have as it all sounded so tempting. I settled for the sea bass with couscous and an adorable tomato sauce – ho but what a sauce. The starters and dessert were equally as good; there was a good selection of wines. Last but not least the staff’s professionalism which came over at all times.

My husband surprised me on our 20th wedding anniversary on the 20th December and booked a table in the restaurant. The food was fantastic and the service was second to none. We had the most memorable night, everything about it was wonderful.

Maison Bleue has never failed us over the last five years. It might have been the last minute “Do you fancy going out for lunch" or the "let’s have a special meal to celebrate...". Service is exemplary and the food is top notch; just the right combination of quality ingredients, cooked and presented honestly that is "special", without being over fussed about. Only downside is service can be slower when it is busy.

My wife and I have been to this restaurant many times over the past 8 years and we have never received poor service, food or wine. We have eaten at Maison Bleue on Christmas Day three times, worth every penny and always fully booked. This place is exceptional!

Recommended to this restaurant by locals when we visited Bury St Edmunds last Friday. It is mainly fish on the menu, but there was also steak and duck to satisfy none fish eaters. I am not a huge fish fan generally, but the menu was very interesting.

The sea bass carpaccio was simply delicious. My husbands smoked salmon and crab roulade was equally good. Monkfish with mushrooms and a lovely sauce was a tasty choice, as was the Dover Sole. Vegetables were cooked correctly. Desserts were equally good. I had sticky toffee pudding. Nothing like you get in pubs, but elegant and nicely presented.

Our Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc was very nice and there are plenty of reasonably priced wines available. The staff were very professional, but also friendly and helpful. Other diners were well turned out and there was a nice ambience to the place. Very relaxed evening with no rush to get us out. A thoroughly good night out and reasonably priced too!!

This is a great place. We went for lunch on a Saturday - the food is good, the service is friendly and efficient. It was everything we hoped it would be - and more.
