We have been to Malbec several times now and it is always delightful; the food is exquisitely prepared and presented yet never over-fussy or contrived. Despite the tendency for the noise levels to rise at busy times, as noted by another reviewer, the restaurant has great ambience to complement the food and wine. We recently tried the set lunch menu, which again was a revelation and very reasonably priced. This is the ideal place to take someone special.

Review by Cotswold King (4 February 2008)

We have always enjoyed fantastic meals with such locally sourced ingredients and imaginative combinations. Now that Rebecca has returned with her usually efficiency, it is true to say we come back time and time again, due to the excellent dining experience. The only downside is due to the low ceiling upstairs it can get rather noisy.

There are lots of good eating places in Stratford-upon-Avon but this small restaurant in Union Street is the best. It is only a matter of time before it gets its star so try it while you can still get a booking.
