I had been to Marco Polo quite a few times for the evening meals. The restaurant interior is great and their service is good. The menu offers a variety of dishes and the food is delicious. It is good value for money and I would recommend them.

Travelling from Scotland after a very long journey and having not seen my good friend Pat for about a year, she decided she would take me for a special meal to a restaurant in Newcastle. It was a disaster and we walked out. Being a restaurant owner in Scotland this is not something I would normally do, so it had to be bad. However, Marco Polo’s being directly opposite was where we two very upset young-ish ladies went to recover and did so admirably. The ambiance and welcome was red hot, the staff were genuine, smart and eager to please. What about the food and drink? Well it was magnificent. Our requests for a seafood dinner evolved perfectly with amazing king prawns and tender scallops followed by fresh cod washed down with a bottle of chilled Prosecco. This meal was fit for a king and certainly hit the spot, but when the bill arrived we could not believe how reasonable it was. Well done Marco Polo’s for getting it just right. Thanks to the Restaurant Manager Matt and his band of merry men for a wonderful evening that could have been a friendship disaster. We will be back. Lynn Nicolson – Scotland and Pat Jamieson – Newcastle.

My partner, family and friends have been visiting Marco Polo for months now since we found it and have never had a bad experience. The prices are reasonable and the food is gorgeous - highly recommended.

I think this is the best Italian restaurant in Newcastle. They have an incredible range of rustic traditional Italian meals and a fantastic atmosphere. This is place is busy all the time and you just can’t miss this one so book now.

I had the pleasure of eating in Marco Polo by mistake and would certainly recommend it to anyone. The waiting staff were excellent and very helpful, service was prompt yet not intrusive. The food and wine is of a good standard having many dishes that you wouldn't normally expect to see in a high street restaurant. The décor and ambience was young and fashionable yet the bill not horrendous. I would eat there again when I return to Newcastle.

It is definitely one of my favourite Italians in town and an improvement on the decent old Marco Polo's, corners the middle market perfectly, nice decor, and a good place to go to straight from work. It was very reasonably priced.
