This place is excellent! I’ve been living in Square for three years now and felt no place can beat it – this is a hidden gem. The food is excellent and people say it’s expensive, but you get some of the best food in London. I really should be saying don’t go there as I don’t want it to get so busy that I can’t get a seat, but it’s already very busy.

The Morgan Arms is set in a really nice part of Bow. The pub itself was inviting and well kept. The food was fantastic. The Morgan fishcakes with spinach, egg and sour cream sauce were perfectly cooked, well portioned and tasted beautiful. The mackerel looked fantastic, the roast lunch was a huge meal and looked top quality. The service left us a little bemused as orders got mixed up, but was still very pleasant.

That was the best pub in East London. It was always a challenge to keep up with the chef’s creativity as the menu changes all the time. I have never had a bad meal. If you're lucky, you might catch the head chef joking around with his team and sending perfect meals away at the same time.

I cannot believe that anyone has had bad food at the Morgan Arms. It is the most amazing restaurant. I have eaten here on numerous occasions because we are lucky enough for it to be our local. The menu is always really interesting and the food is incredible.

The Sunday lunch is at least 200 times better than any other pub Sunday lunch anywhere else I've ever been in London (the pork belly and crackling is my favourite!).

The puddings are amazing; last time I had rhubarb pavlova with pistachio ice cream.

The garlic hummus is gorgeous with the homemade breads.

We always bring friends here for Sunday lunch and they always love it and are jealous that it's our local (for people unaware of London areas - it is surprising for someone to be jealous that you live in Bow!). The best gastropub in London by far.

I have to say after reading what can only be described as rude, arrogant and obnoxious reviews of this restaurant anyone visiting from any part of London or even the rest of the UK like myself will be thoroughly captivated by the atmosphere, decor, environment, staff, landlady and above all else the well planned and BRILLIANTLY PUT TOGETHER 'BREATH OF FRESH AIR' menu and of course the head chef. Being a real 'foodie' and after being brought up surrounded by qualified chefs all my life means that when visiting a new restaurant and sampling new menus and dishes I can be sometimes over critical - not here!!! Highly recommended, don't pass The Morgan up when visiting London!

It's been a long time since I've eaten somewhere that truly makes you feel like you've been made a mug of and thoroughly disappointed. I think the pub itself is excellent, well kitted out, with good serving/waiting staff. I could not, however be as gleaming about the food here. I went with two vegetarians who were most disappointed with the supply of good, original vegetarian food. What did come to me was overcooked salmon with what looked (and tasted) like a half frozen ball of mash...it was meant to be their colcannon pie. My friend's overpriced warm salad greens were OK, but then, how difficult is it to toss a few leaves in a pan with oil? Hideously overpriced for what it is-But one look at the kitchen explained why: They have three overcrowded chefs in a very small kitchen who all need paying!

Having eaten at The Morgan a number of times, I have found the service to be good - the students they get to work there are always polite - save for that given by the landlady who can be extremely rude to customers. The food is pretty good, but for similar prices you could eat comfortably at The Ivy or even better The Wolseley - some of the best restaurants in the world. And though the prices compare, the quality does not.

My first visit to the Morgan Arms was truly enjoyable. Sara and her staff were extremely welcoming and enjoyed a great pint, surrounded by a friendly clientele before sitting down to dinner. As for the food, my taste buds had forgotten what it was to eat really good fare. I had the most beautifully cooked crisp fishcake with a glorious bubble bursting poached egg on top, followed by the guinea fowl, onion and mushroom pie baked in real short crust pastry packed full of flavour. This was washed down with a fresh light Pinot Grigio. Just heavenly, I'll definitely be revisiting this oasis and bringing friends. Thank you to Kelvin and his team and also Tina for her excellent service.

My first experience of going to the Morgan Arms was truly an enjoyable experience. The staff were extremely friendly and most welcoming and the beer and food equally agreeable. The Arms is a tad expensive but the ambience of the place made it worthwhile. However, the last couple of times there is definitely a noticeable decline in the service and quality of food. A couple of months ago I found a piece of metal in my dessert. After highlighting this, the waitress didn't even apologise or offer an alternative. Not one to judge a place (or possibly a glutton for punishment) I went back last night. Again another bad experience. The waitress had clearly forgotten to place our order with the kitchen, and subsequently we waited for over an hour. Being Christmas the place was busy, but many people arrived much later than we did and finished their meals before we had even started. All of this would have been forgivable had we been offered an apology or an explanation, but alas, the Morgan clearly doesn't do apologies.
