This is was our second visit to The Old Mill as the first was so lovely. Staff are fantastic and the service fab (although they forgot the condiments this time). I must say though on our second visit the food was distinctly average. The mussels I ordered, about a quarter of them were closed so shouldn’t have been served and the rump steak that I ordered was chewy and at £17.50 was quite a disappointment. That’s said my boyfriend loved the lamb shank he ordered. Perhaps we will try again for a third time.

A fantastic place - the food is outstanding, and great for the money it costs. My boyfriend said the steak he had is the best he has ever tasted. The staff are friendly and make you feel so welcome. The decor is beautiful too. I would go there every weekend if I could.

Review by Kate Cox (7 February 2008)

We go here all the time and I have to say it is gorgeous. The staff are always impeccable, the refurbishment is fantastic and the food and wine truly flavoursome. I almost didn't want to write a review so that nobody else goes and I can always get in! Maybe of interest to some that even though it is truly beautiful they do let very well behaved dogs into the bar eating area, which is what did it for us originally. A gem!
