We ate at the Clitheroe Olive Press earlier this month and can thoroughly recommend it. The platter of olives, hummus, tapenade and pesto was an excellent start to the meal. We followed this with sea bream, which was perfectly cooked, and an 'Olive Press burger' with fabulous chips. This is definitely a cut-above when it comes to Italian restaurants, but it's just informal enough to be suitable for any occasion.

Judging by our recent lunchtime visit on Monday to the Clitheroe Olive Press, the new menu will be a great success. The food was delicious, beautifully cooked and visually very appealing. The service was good without being overbearing and the overall décor of the restaurant enhanced a very pleasing dining experience. Have a go; I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

This is a fantastic restaurant. We dined on a Friday night and it was very busy. There was live music playing and the atmosphere was amazing. We had steaks and although a little pricy, they were well worth the price and cooked to perfection. The members of staff were friendly and attentive. What a great night!

This is a fantastic restaurant. We ate on Monday night from a special menu of any pizza or pasta for £5.95. We were expecting rather small portions as most special offers are, but were amazed at the size of the pizzas - they were bigger than the plate - the whole experience was brilliant. Vito the manager is welcoming and the whole staff made the night one to remember and recommend.

I’m more than satisfied with The Olive Press. I took my nine year old daughter for tea and she can't wait to go back. I ordered garlic bread with sour cream and spring onions for a shared starter, a main course of tagliatelle carbonara with pancetta, peas, poached egg and parmesan, and a dessert of chocolate amarone with strawberries. All courses were excellent in both taste and presentation and were served with minimum fuss by eager, friendly staff.

My daughter plumped for the make your own pizza, which is a pizza base brought to your table and your child gets to put on all the toppings before it's whisked away to be cooked for you, she particularly thought this was a great idea. The make your own pizza was part of a set kids menu, which included a drink and a dessert. Her dessert of knickerbocker glory went down a storm even though she couldn't finish it. Her meal costs £7.50. The restaurant is modern inside but has a warm feel to it and is handily placed in Clitheroe Town Centre. Our entire bill came to £26 with drinks which, for the standard of food and service, is a very good deal. I look forward to returning there again soon. This restaurant should have a good future if the standards are maintained consistently.

We've eaten here a number of times and it's been an excellent experience. In our opinion, the design is well conceived and extremely well executed. We always start with the slashed garlic bread with tomato and rosemary which is sensationally thin and crispy. We may follow this with the chilli squid, pate, tuna burger or arancini chicken, which are generally excellent. The seafood risotto is always fantastic, and has a great selection of fish and shellfish. In the past I have also tried their pasta dishes, tagliatelli carbonara and char-grilled chicken penne, which were good. My companion usually has char-grilled tuna - great value for money. On our last trip we were served a chump of lamb that was so fatty as to be virtually inedible. The floor manager expressed genuine concern and after apologising to us, deducted the cost of the main course from our bill, so everyone was happy in the end. I really hope that the Olive Press succeeds, as in general the food, the setting and the staff deserve proper recognition.
