My husband and I have just returned from a lovely dinner at the Olive Tree. Having lived in the Sutton area for seven years and tried most of the restaurants, I can say this is one of the best meals I've eaten and I am very particular when it comes to restaurant food and service. I cannot believe that we left it so long to try this place out but there is no pub nearby so this is our excuse. I had the crab cakes to start and they were delicious - really light and tasty and the duck for mains and it was cooked to perfection. The accompanying Savoy cabbage with pancetta and a fluffy potato cake were devoured. My husband tried the goat’s cheese to start and again this was very good. We shared a desert - fantastic homemade pistachio ice cream - chocolate nemesis beat us and we could not finish it. It’s probably not the cosiest of restaurants but as far as service and quality of food, it was excellent.

My family and I are regulars at The Olive Tree in Carshalton Beeches and for a good reason. The food is of modern European style and it's freshly cooked, well presented and delicious. The service is outstanding, prompt and friendly. It's clear from my numerous and enjoyable dining experiences that this restaurant is a little gem to be savoured. The members of staff seem to go out of their way to ensure satisfaction, and make sure that all is well. Go there.

I ate at the olive tree with some friends and we all found the service very good and the food was wonderful, it is all freshly homemade even down to the yummy bread. I particularly liked the fact that you could order vegetables separately if you wanted them. Very welcoming and friendly staff and I would definitely go back.

I went to the olive tree with twelve family members for a birthday meal, I found all the staff very helpful and the food was excellent. I would definitely go back again and recommend the olive tree to anyone who loves food and a good friendly family atmosphere. It is a family run business and that shows in the excellent service.

I was very disappointed with the food and attention to detail at the venue. The starters were soup, devilled kidneys, and mussels. The soup was not severed with a bread roll. We had to ask for bread and were offered sliced white bread. The kidneys were just too hot and the source stodgy and the mussels were cold. The main courses were all served with out any vegetables, none not even offered or mentioned on the menu.

Breast of chicken with rosemary, lemon and rocket served with new potatoes, the problem there was no rocket, when I enquired I was told rocket was a herb and in the source, not that I could see it. By coincidence when we tried to order parmesan and rocket salad we were informed they had run out of rocket. Would it not have been simpler to offer myself and fellow diners some vegetables for which, we would have been more than happy to pay for, instead we were shown the menu, which did not mention vegetables, but alas it did mention rocket! What I ate was good but it could have so much better. Attention to detail and look after the customer, he is after all paying. I won’t be eating there again but there is an excellent Indian next door.

I was taken to the Olive Tree for a surprise birthday meal. I must say it was excellent. The service was very good and the food, lovely. We all ordered various meals and I chose the spaghetti, whilst my husband had the baked salmon, my daughter and son both had the lamb. All were delicious. What I liked as well we had our two year old grand daughter with us and she ate free. I would definitely visit again and I would well recommend the restaurant.
