This restaurant has authentic, rustic Italian cooking in a homely atmosphere. I had a pizza that was clearly home made, and all the better for it. My partner had the sea food pasta which she described as 'astonishing looking' as it was covered in shells and two big prawns on it, and tasted very nice too, apparently. The service is a tad slow but it is fair priced for what you get. I’d definitely go back there.

A truly superb restaurant. Recently took the family to celebrate a birthday and found the food excellent, the service attentive but not fussy, and the ambience delightful. Will definitely go again.

We had a fantastic meal here on a Friday night (9th Feb 2007), make sure you book as it's very popular. Although busy it was never too noisy and had a very romantic atmosphere. Very attentive staff and superb food. The veal was the best I'd had and the pizza was apparently one of the best. Wine selection was good but didn't get round to trying the desserts. One of the best in Guildford. Enjoy!

Went to Olivo on Friday night (29th Dec), turned up at 9.30 without a reservation. Service was excellent. Everyone enjoyed the food, I personally loved my calzone. Prices very reasonable. Highly recommend visiting.

Went on a Friday evening (had booked well in advance). The service was impeccable. The food was delicious with a good choice especially fish dishes. The ambience was relaxed, without loud music. We had plenty of space at our table. The prices were reasonable for the quality. I would recommend the restaurant and look forward to eating there again.

Very hard to get into - forget about Saturday night unless you book weeks in advance - but worth it. Good pizza, standard mid-Italian fare and a superb mixed seafood dish. Desserts are fine, wine list extensive, and do ask for the wine waiter's recommendation. Very good - I just wish I could get a reservation.

Went on Friday night having booked table a couple of days in advance. It was very busy but we were well looked after by the serving staff and the food arrived promptly and with no lengthy delay between courses. If you're looking for a mid priced, lively restaurant with an interesting and varied menu, this one comes highly recommended.

Well, about a year ago, I split up from my ex. so I did the whole romantic thing to get her. I won’t go into it but Olivo had something to do with it. I called up and booked a table for 2 non smoking at 7pm on a Friday. So no problems it was done. Later on I decided I needed something else, I called back and confirmed my reservation, I asked if I could have a bottle of wine (chilled) awaiting us when we arrived, and shortly after we sat down have garlic bread on the table (without asking) it was my ex-girlfriend’s favourite starter.

So we arrived (I was 10 minutes late) I gave my name at the desk and the waiter took us straight up. We walked through upstairs and had a great secluded section. Not your average table for 2 where u have other couples or kids listening on your conversation. This was a perfect spot. As we sat the waiter took our jackets and boom, everything I had requested was there waiting.

It was great. I really didn’t know how to thank the staff and this one particular waiter who orchestrated the whole thing. So I left a generous tip and personally thanked the waiter (handing him a tenner). I’m going back on Friday with someone and I know it will impress. It’s a great place and well kept, also in a great location for Guildford. I highly recommend this place but only for couples in the evening. It’s too nice to be spoiled by groups or families to be honest. Anyway I hope you look into it. Thanks Olivo.

Wanted to book a special night out after my exams, and was really happy with the food, service and atmosphere here. Had it recommended to me by two friends, and the pasta and seafood dish I had was delicious! Loved the wine, and the waiters were so friendly, but not too attentive - so a very good balance. Highly recommended.
