We came across this wonderful building and restaurant quite by accident but have never looked back. We are not local but can't help but keep returning because it is so good. The atmosphere is wonderful as is the food and drink. The staff are great and we can't understand why anyone wouldn't like it here - it's not cheap, but then you get what you pay for. We recommended it highly.

We waited at lunchtime for forty-five minutes and were disappointed with the food. The presentation of the salad and the ham wrap was good enough. I felt the lukewarm white duck wrap on a white plate with a white bowl of dip should have been garnished.

We went to The Ostrich about a month ago after having stumbled upon it when out driving. I had the Roast Beef with trimming and the crumble for dessert, my partner had the Homemade Pie and the crème brûlé. Wow, what a wonderful experience. The beef was so tender and the gravy, excellent. The same could be said for the pie and the desserts. It’s out of this world. We are going back for Christmas, as it was yummy.

Despite the restaurant not having many customers, on a Sunday night at 8 p.m. when we had arrived (six tables) and although on a much reduced Sunday menu, service was extremely slow. The two waiters were polite, just never to be seen. The menu was limited but then again, it was a Sunday night. At least the food was good although for the price we paid (£52 and no alcohol) we should have had zippier service.

Rarely would I describe a vegetarian dish to die for, but, The Ostrich gets my vote for their delicious aubergine stuffed with couscous, topped with goats’ cheese and surrounded by a tomato and vegetable jus. Absolutely delicious-and I'm not a vegetarian. One of my favourites was lamb goujons with mint and apple dip, and that was mega yummy. They had hosted a lovely sixtieth birthday party for me in a private room upstairs catering from tots to totterers and we would all certainly go back again and again. 100% tops.

I visited there and had a wonderful meal. The ambience was great with old mixed with the modern. The food was very good and the service was excellent. I would recommend without hesitation.

I was blown away on my first visit so have been back many times since. The place looks amazing, the food is magnificent and the staff and service have always been first rate. Good looking and friendly, it makes such a difference!
