We ate in Piccolino last week. The food was delicious and the staff were very chatty and welcoming. The wine is a bit pricey but the restaurant had a very nice atmosphere even though we were there early. We will definitely go back.

I go to Piccolino all the time; they serve consistently good food across the gulf of vibrant dishes. To be honest, it's my favourite restaurant. The staff are friendly and helpful, and there is a certain friendship or kinship between staff and customer, well that is what I feel. Anyone reading this who is unsure of which restaurant to pick in Newcastle, this is certainly one of the best around if your looking for a relaxed setting, comfortable yet modern interior and remarkable food to match.

We ate at this restaurant in August and we really enjoyed it so much so we are going again as we are staying in Newcastle. Lovely atmosphere, decor and the staff couldn't be more helpful.

To sum it up in a sentence - the menu was overpriced; the food was under cooked and had to be sent back twice as the rice was inedible. I don’t think we will be going back.

We ate, as part of a large group, at Piccolino on Saturday night. The food is of a better standard than other average, cheerful places, but we thought the prices were perhaps a little high. My vegetarian pizza was £9.75, and although it was okay it did not warrant being double the cost of an equally good pizza to be found any where else. My husband's steak was substantial, and tasty, but at £21 plus £3 for chips we thought it was a little on the pricey side. Pints of lager were around the same price as elsewhere, but we asked for house white wine and at £19 a bottle this soon got the bill up, as did the £5.80 Irish coffees. The food was good, but the pizza and pasta dishes were certainly over priced.

We went to Piccolino twice this year. This is a very continental style restaurant. All waiters are very attentive and pleasant, even though on both occasions they made a mistake - the second time they got all the food orders wrong instead of just one. Piccolino is not inexpensive but has a great atmosphere. They make the customer feel valued. The first time I was fairly impressed with the food, the second time I thought the food was no more than just average, although the presentation was still good. I would not necessarily go back for the food in itself, but the whole package of service, environment, food and everything taken into account, is good enough to warrant a third visit.

I love this restaurant! It took a while to find but it was well worth it. The decoration is fantastic and the food is excellent. There's something for everyone - I can't recommend the strawberry ice cream enough!

I ate at Piccolino last night. We initially had a party of twenty five booked for their menu rapido (a fabulous£10 per person for pizza/pasta and drink). As with any big party there were last minute drop outs, the staff particularly the lady manager, could not have been any more obliging rearranging the now lesser party to one big table, the service was fabulous, the waiters were handsome the food was wonderful and the atmosphere was wonderful. The alternative menu for later in the evening looked amazing so much so I'm rebooking to try it. Totally recommended!

Wowee! What a fabulous place to eat. The restaurant was gorgeous. Very chic, staff was very friendly and professional. The food was amazing, got to be the best meal I have eaten. Ok a little bit more expensive than most places, but worth every penny. I had the grilled asparagus with poached egg to start. It was presented like a work of art and was cooked to perfection. My partner had the stuffed mushrooms on ciabatta with pesto and pine nuts. He was equally impressed. We both had pizza for main course. Lovely and Moorish, the menu has loads of choice, as I am vegetarian and find choice sometimes limited. We have already booked our next meal out there. So, if you enjoy fantastic food you would too.
