I've visited London three times in the last five years and I'm never disappointed with the food and service I've received at Porter's. Thanks for a very lovely early dinner last Sunday. It was the best I'd had all week and that included the snotty service I got in Paris.

Porters arranged a great birthday lunch party for fifty people. The layout was just right for us to mix, the service was quick and very pleasant, the food was very tasty, the staff responded positively to every request and they threw in a lot of little touches that helped to make it a fun event.

How impressed we were with our dining experience at Porters yesterday evening before our theatre trip. We had downloaded a voucher from one of the discount voucher sites which gave us 'buy one get one free’, that was worth doing and was of superb value. The pies are priced at £11.95 and include one side order, chips, jacket potato, and salad amongst other things. After making our 6.00 pm reservation online, we received a prompt e-mail confirmation from Neil. Warren, our server was delightful, apparently new and 'in training'. He was professional, attentive, and extremely courteous. The food was delicious, I had the lamb, mint and apricot pie with a baked potato and my husband had a game pie with chips. We had a spotted dick with custard to share for dessert. Everything arrived promptly and was piping hot without being overcooked. It was a pleasant eating experience, one that is so rare these days, well done.

We booked the London Eye-River Cruise experience through Porters which included a two course meal. It was a fantastic day with lovely food and great service at Porters. The waiters were excellent and the value of the food was terrific. Even the email response from Porters in reply to our questions was quick and informative. We recommend this package to anyone.

Having planned a special family birthday celebration weekend, we were keen to organise a pre theatre meal in advance so that everything went smoothly. Porters made this all so easy for us and followed through on the day with great service, excellent food and real value. All combined with a lovely relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant and friendly staff. Thank you.

This was our second visit to Porters, and both have been wonderful. The atmosphere is relaxed, the food is lovely and the staff are warm and welcoming. Reasonable prices and quality food - definitely worth a visit!

I dined at Porters on Friday 23rd January with my wife and triplet sons - we were in London to celebrate their birthday. We all liked the ambience of the restaurant and the polite, courteous and unhurried manner in which we were served. Our waiter, who hailed from Whitby, was excellent and he made the boys feel very welcome and special on their birthday. Eating in central London is not always as pleasant an experience as this nor do many other places represent such good value for money. Well done and thank you.

I would like to compliment Porters on the excellent standard of food and good service we received at our team Christmas lunch. I can honestly say this was one of the best organised Christmas lunches that I have been to in a long time. The members of staff were attentive and the food was of a high standard, despite the fact they were really busy. I thought it was good value for money.

Arranging a celebratory meal for eleven can be a daunting task at times, but thanks to the very helpful team at Porters it was made oh so easy. They efficiently accommodated our very late changes in menu selection both before and on the night itself.

Last night was one of the most pleasant dining experiences I've had in London, thanks to the exceptionally professional and courteous team from the moment you entered the door. Their attention to detail and our requirements was brilliant, and we felt very well looked after at a very busy time of year. If this level of service can be delivered under such testing circumstances, I definitely look forward to returning again and again in the New Year. I recommend this establishment to anyone who looks for excellence in service, food and wine in pleasant surroundings and great value for money.

Many thanks, Roger

A group of nine people attended a Christmas lunch in Covent garden last Friday, and wanted to compliment you on an excellent meal and good service. Despite the venue being extremly busy this didn't affect the level of service, or food. Well done.
