We had driven down from Yorkshire last Saturday to meet a friend for a meal and my jaded spirits and palate were definitely brought to life by a visit to The Queen's Head. We shared the whitebait starter, which was cooked to perfection, for main course we had the pork and the lamb, which again were beautifully cooked and ample portions. I normally try and avoid desserts but the standard of the meal so far left me wondering what delights the chef had in store for us there. We both sampled the fig tart, which was delicious. Wine - very good standard and service excellent, all members of the team went that extra measure. Very impressed will have to do the 200 mile round trip again to treat my friend - any excuse!

A little gem of a place! You want to tell all but secretly want to keep it all to yourself. We eat there often. We also had our daughter’s christening there in December 08 and had a great meal and more so a truly memorable day. The members of staff are so friendly and attentive. There's always a lovely relaxed atmosphere and the food is great. My other half loves the real ales too. Angie and Geoff the owners are very friendly and have totally got it right.

Very good meal, atmosphere and staff! I went last night with three friends and the meal was very good but the only disappointment was that the apple and caramel tart was not available - apart from that no gripes at all. Hope the pub keeps going from strength to strength given the lean times we are having at the moment.

We went there for Sunday lunch as we are still trying pubs for decent tasty food, not the usual reheated tasteless stuff. Fortunately, we were pleasantly surprised, the beef was exceptional, and the local cheeses to follow were served at the right temperature and were truly great. We will go there again.

It was my first visit last Sunday and I had a fantastic meal. All the courses were great, however, a particular mention goes to the main course of skate cooked to perfection and it was a wonderful surprise to see it on the menu. Will definitely go again as it is worth the twenty mile trip.

We had gone there on the off chance and I'm glad we did. We had a superb rib of beef for two people and it was better than excellent. The meal also came with real hand cut chips and tasted like they were cooked in lard, they tasted superb, which made a real change from the normal plastic anaemic pub chips. Overall the meal was top class - first rate.
