We ate at The Railway this Sunday and found it exceptionally good, with a warm welcome straight from the door, being shown to our very clean table and told to sit back and relax while the manager went and ordered our drinks from the bar. We were a little surprised by the reduced Sunday menu, maybe us not reading the website menu correctly, having already picked what we wanted to eat! Nevertheless, we choose the pâté and the risotto for starters while our son had his main meal of a 'young diners' Sunday lunch when our starters came. Our Sunday lunch was to follow, when ours did arrive, after a short wait, we were delighted with the delicious beef and the exquisite roast potatoes. Then the vegetables arrived to gasps from our table, as two dishes arrived with a lovely cauliflower cheese in one and carrot and suede, cabbage and onion in the other. We just barely managed to squeeze a dessert and coffees they again were delicious. The fudge along with the coffee is a fantastic accompaniment and worth the journey alone. We eating out quite often at a wide variety of places and this has to be one of the best that we have enjoyed so far - highly recommended.

This is really a great place to eat, I can't believe we have just found it and it's been open for a year. We only live ten minutes away. They have a two course for £10.95 deal on at the moment and it is well worth the money, the food is superbly cooked and we are sure we will be spending many a night there. I can't rave about it enough and the previous reviewer was right that Chorley is full of pub grub and this place is in a different class, well done and keep up the good work. The chips are to die for.

Great food, great service, definitely the best place to eat in the Chorley area. I have eaten there several times and the consistently good, specials boards are a real treat. Well done for giving us decent well cooked food in an area full of cheap pub grub!

We had an amazing meal at The Railway and were really surprised as it looks like a normal pub from the outside. One look at the tasty dishes on the menu makes you feel so hungry that you don't know what to choose. We ate outside on the terrace and it was amazing as it was a sunny day. I can't wait to go back and sample the rest of the menu. If you don’t go, I think you are seriously missing out on something good.

We visited The Railway to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday. Given we're from Australia, I wanted a local restaurant that provided authentic local food from Lancashire. We were very impressed. The service was friendly and attentive and not too 'over the top'. The beer was fine. The information on the food was first class. We had bread to start, which arrived promptly - and were really flavoursome. The food arrived after about 30 minutes and was delicious. The desert was a treat. And overall, we enjoyed real value for money in an upmarket restaurant by Lancashire standards. We will visit again and next time will take our two children, as the kids menu looked nice, too.

We had a fantastic meal at the Railway recently – they have undergone extensive refurbishment, and now look very impressive. The menu and choice on offer are excellent and the food was delicious, using fresh local produce. The service was also very good and the staff are very friendly.

We will certainly be returning to the Railway and have recommended it to our friends and family, some of which have been and also really enjoyed it. In fact my father loves the home cooked chunky chips in dripping! Give the Railway a try it's also great value for money.

A superb menu and efficient, friendly service. The atmosphere is perfect for conversation, chilling out and savouring every mouthful of their delicious, unadulterated food. A truly scrumptious experience, to be highly recommended.
