We eat at the Brig O’Doon fairly regularly. The food is divine the staff are very welcoming and the bar and restaurant are very quaint and traditionally Scottish. You can’t beat dinner in the Brig O'Doon.

This is an amazing place with amazing food and service. I honestly do not know how they could improve! The members of staff are very attentive, and the food comes fresh and very tasty. The value is incredible too; go and enjoy.

This place has a fantastic setting in an interesting old building though the choice of art is, well, distinctive. I have eaten there several times, including Valentine's Day a couple of years ago. The food is generally okay - though rarely much better - but the service is poor. The impression is of a never ending struggle to get staff resulting in them being poorly trained, though not unwilling. The service in a packed dining room for Valentine's Day was particularly poor and slow. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

Review by Mr Lawson (12 November 2007)

One of the friendliest eating establishments anyone could wish for, and we regularly dine there. The staff are young and vibrant, the food is of the highest standard, we usually enjoy the Burns Supper Menu, which is a three course dinner with coffee to finish and priced under £20. It is the most enjoyable one, so book early for a Saturday night, as it is very popular.

Review by Brian Boyd (30 October 2004)

We (all ten of us) popped in and asked rather sheepishly if they could accommodate us for dinner without a reservation and dressed as casual tourists from the US. They were very gracious and accepted us right then. They set up one large table for us all to sit together. We ordered a variety of dishes, from seafood to haggis (which was exquisite), testing their ability to provide high quality food on the spot.

I have nary a complaint. The food was perfect. The service was friendly, prompt, but no one got in the way of our dinner and conversation.

Please try the Brig O'Doon House Hotel. You will not be disappointed.
