I have been going to San Carlo since its opening many years ago. The food and service is still as excellent as the first time I ate there.

Quite simply the best Italian I have been to anywhere in the UK. The atmosphere buzzes, the service is great, the photos of famous diners are interesting and most important, and the food is awesome. Be prepared to take some time choosing your dishes as the menu is extensive and you'll want to eat all of it. Save space for pudding as well. Oh and book in advance, this place is always fully booked.

This has got to be one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever eaten in. As I travel extensively for work and pleasure I have been to quite a large number of restaurants, and this is right up there, if not the best. The service, food and whole dining experience is both sublime, welcoming and the food will just blow you away. I will definitely go back there, and if you ever want the ultimate in dining, you simply have to go to San Carlo.

San Carlo is really a fantastic restaurant. The food, service and wine are all great. I have eaten there with my business colleagues, and with my friends and family. The atmosphere there suits both occasions. The fish dishes are really exceptional, and if you have a palate for rich food I can recommend either the lobster thermidor, or the salmon in lobster sauce. Both taste deliciously fresh, and are exquisitely prepared.

Delicious! I live about an hour away but would drive there just for the lasagne. I have been there three times and taken friends and they have all loved it.

By far the best restaurant in Bristol - the interior and atmosphere would suit day or evening and the food is divine with a great range of fish dishes and pasta. We are a young couple in Bristol and this is by far our favourite; their service is super.

San Carlo is my favourite place to eat out in Bristol and we're always there regardless of the occasion. In fact we're heading there tonight to have a nice glass of wine and pizza in their air conditioned restaurant. It's in a great location within Bristol City Centre, and so I think it's the perfect choice for a meal out at daytime or evening.

I love the oysters at San Carlo’s – they are absolutely sublime. I love the place and I feel it is the best in Bristol.

The finest food and wine with the service always consistent, but what I find so refreshing is the mix of people dining in San Carlo. You can see them in their designer outfits, with their Cartier jewellery, eating lobster on the next table to a couple of jeans-clad students enjoying a pizza. You find the young and old, smart and casual, many different nationalities taking advantage of a menu that suits any pocket. The excellent staff treat everyone well as there are no barriers here.
