We really enjoyed our visit to Simply Heathcotes - Liverpool - both the food and the service was exceptional. This restaurant has been there for years and is still busy - and it's easy to see why - so much more enjoyable than eating in a chain restaurant.

Having been to this restaurant three times now, I can recommend it highly. The food is wonderful and different and normally the staff are friendly and polite and very attentive.

We ate there yesterday while on a shopping trip to Liverpool. This is a great place to go if you're hitting the shops, because of its location, and also because of the excellent service. We had a smoked salmon terrine and artichoke hearts with Ribblesdale goat's cheese for starters. Then mussels from the special lunch time menu and Goosnargh duck from the main menu. All was very good, especially the duck, which was cooked perfectly. All-in-all this is a stylish, un-stuffy restaurant and is definitely recommended.

This is a good restaurant situated in an interesting building on the Waterfront, opposite the Albert Dock. The food is of good quality, well cooked, interesting, well presented and good value. The members of staff are attentive and helpful without being intrusive. This is an enjoyable place to eat if you are visiting the world famous Liverpool Waterfront and the nearby Albert Dock.

Heathcotes stands out from the other restaurants I have been to in Liverpool. They have an extensive menu. The food is of a high quality, very nicely presented and served professionally by members of staff who are attentive. In short, this is a restaurant that delivers value for money, and can be highly recommended.

Sunday lunch at Simply Heathcotes was absolutely fantastic. Once again a well cooked tasty fresh meal. We dined on duck terrine, followed by the traditional roast beef, with light fluffy Yorkshire puddings and then the famous bread and butter pudding with apricot compote. We can’t wait for our next visit and it’s highly recommended. Well done staff.

This is a beautiful restaurant with amazing staff and fantastic quick service. We dined at lunch time and ate off a reduced lunch menu. We were pushing for time but the meal was served within 15 minutes. Good, fresh food. Highly recommended for lunch or dinner.

Following our wedding meal in 2002 we have returned each year for our anniversary, excellent food on each occasion, friendly and always a pleasure. Very child friendly and welcoming. The restaurant manageress has remembered us on each visit, which is also a very nice thing and quite rare. We are going again this weekend and we are sure we will not be disappointed. Enjoy.

I have been to the restaurant many times and it has always been lovely however, I was disappointed today with the food. My partner had the burger which had a rubbery texture and didn’t taste right at all, chips were raw in places. I had the shepherd’s pie which also was disappointing. Definitely wasn’t worth the price. Only nice thing was the bread, drinks and staff were great as usual!

Absolutely first class! From meeting & greeting, to the food and the service – it could not be faulted. Very child friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. Best restaurant I have visited in this country for quite some time.
