We wanted a good restaurant for our wedding anniversary and read the previous reviews; I am pleased to say we were not disappointed. The food was fabulous, the atmosphere perfect and the attention of the staff cannot be faulted. Highly recommended - we will go back.

Booking was easy, had a pre-theatre dinner there on Saturday night. Service was of a high standard and the food was lovely.

Having eaten there on business with a large visiting group, from the far east and privately several times with my wife, I could thoroughly recommend Sorrento for the quality of food, service and value for money. The restaurant is a real find and well worth walking away from the popular waterside in Stratford to somewhere with high quality, sensible prices and friendly staff.

Review by Sian (4 June 2007)

This restaurant was a lucky find as we were looking for a pre-theatre meal and were short of time. We opted for the set menu and the service was so speedy that we easily managed three courses despite worrying that we only had time for two. The food was lovely, the staff very friendly and efficient and the meal and extras proved to be good value for money. The restaurant is slightly off the beaten track but close to the theatre. We had not booked but there was no problem in finding space for us. As it was a lovely sunny day we sat on the patio which was a lovely spot for a meal. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

Always a favourite, the food is superb and the service unparalleled. From the warm, friendly greeting you receive when you arrive to the kindly 'good nights' you receive when parting, the atmosphere of Sorrento's adds to the enchanting dining experience.

The chef is always willing to cater to all dietary needs - my partner has very severe food allergies and all the staff know them and are able to suggest alternatives when we dine there.

Favourites include the pollo marsala, mushroom risotto, and the ravioli with asparagus. There are others, but it would take the whole menu to name them all.
