I have eaten at the Spice Quarter a number of times and have never received bad food or service. The staff are always friendly, welcoming and always happy to help. They have extensive knowledge of the menu and its ingredients. The food is excellent. Unlike any Indian food I have ever tasted. It really has that something special.

On visiting the theatre one evening my family and I wanted a meal beforehand. We were limited to about an hour and decided to try Spice Quarter, Cardiff Bay. On first inspection this was a very modern restaurant and nicely decorated. The time was 6pm and we had missed the all-day buffet advertised for £5.95 and were aware that the main menu was a little pricey; however, we asked the waiter if this timescale would be possible and he agreed there would be enough time. My family of 5 had 10 poppadoms with chutney to start, with one red wine, a pint lager, two pints of coca cola and one half coca cola. We ordered two chicken kormas, two pilaf rice, one lamb tikka masala, two keema rice and one chicken dopiaza and chicken rogan each, all arrived well within the time scale and was beautifully presented and piping hot. All meals were enjoyed thoroughly and I would really recommend this restaurant. Our bill came to approximately £75 which equates to £15 each. The staff were friendly and polite as well.

It is always a pleasure eating there. The food is of good quality - they don't add any artificial nonsense and you can tell by the colour - luminous but nice shades of brown. The one drawback is that sometimes it seems overly salted, perhaps to make up for the lack of MSG?

A stylish, moody interior with friendly staff gives a great venue both for couples wanting a private night out and parties alike. I would fully recommend giving it a try. We did and now go back there all the time. It's location in central Cardiff makes it a practical stop, especially before the cinema.
