I had a superb meal there - the best fish and chips I have ever tasted along with excellent service and lovely surroundings - it was well worth the money.

We visited Squires Fish Restaurant on Wednesday; it was superb, the batter was perfect and the chips were equally superb. Not only was the food good but we got excellent service as well, it was friendly and informative. I equal Squires to some well known restaurants but with better service. However, please brown the bread and butter next time. We shall revisit with more friends very soon.

One of the best, no actually the best fish and chip operations that I have been to, slick, organised and obviously been at it for a while, ironed out the wrinkles, I nearly said winkles, well worth a try.

Squires, is the best fish and chip restaurant we have ever eaten in, every time we visit the area, we always make a point of sampling their cod and chips. The restaurant is of a very high standard as is the staff. Their takeaway fish and chip bar next door is also first rate. This is no ‘greasy spoon’ seaside operation. The proof of a first rate good value restaurant is that it’s frequented by locals as well as the holiday crowd, Squires meets this criteria in spades. So if you’re in Braunton or surrounding area pop in you won’t be disappointed.

Squires is great, we have only been there once but would definitely return. Very tasty fish and chips, friendly service and accommodated our 1 year old. Good mushy peas too!

We were a party of four, out to celebrate my wife’s birthday at Squires. We had read so many good reviews and were eager to try it out. We got a table quite easily upstairs and the restaurant was full. Right from the start the service was patchy i.e we were served the wrong food order and had a long wait before they got it right. We asked for water at the same time that we ordered the wine but it never came until much later after asking for it several times. We did not complain as we were with friends and were engaged in conversation so the patchy service did not bother us too much. The food was good and the staff were friendly. We would go there again and would hope for better service next time. There were only three staff serving and they had problems coping.

I used to live in the area when I was much younger, but being in Wiltshire now we miss having a really good ‘fish and chip’ restaurant like Squires, so every so often we stay for a few days at Appledore and make a special trip for our ‘fix’ on a plate of great fish and chips. See you again soon.

I’ve been visiting Braunton for years and lived there for a short time, but every time I go back I go to Squires. It’s the first thing I do and also bring friends, it’s always great.

They serve fantastic fish and chips; I would safely say the best I’ve ever had, it’s a shame there isn’t one local to me but will definitely visit again if I am in the area.
