Having read a variety of mixed reviews I was very pleasantly surprised by the Thai Terrace. I visited it on a Monday night and found it to be buzzing. It has a great lounge area for pre-dinner drinks and comfortable, not so crowded seating for dinner. The food was superb with good size portions that were hot and very tasty, a great place to come for a special occasion or dinner for two.

April 2009 - our second and final visit. The food may be nice but we did not like being given a buzzer to tell you when to go to your table. As we were debating another bottle of wine-brandy-coffee the waiter came up and told us ‘you only have one or 2 minutes left’! You get exactly 2 hours for your slot! Sorry, but not the kind of dining experience we enjoy as a family group out for a special occasion. Far too commercial and rushed, we won’t be going back.

It’s always an amazing night out. I was out on business as a party of 70 last night and loved every minute. The food as always is beautifully presented and tastes amazing. The service was second to none and prompt. Amazing location and great view from the restaurant and terrace too. Literally can't wait to go there again sometime very soon. I would recommend it to anyone and definitely book as it can get busy up there. 11 out of 10! Thank you.

The food was wonderful, the service was great, the members of staff were both friendly and efficient, the atmosphere was lovely and it was not over priced, but not what I'd call budget either, just standard for a nice meal out.

Review by Dave G (13 December 2008)

I booked a party of twelve for my employee's Christmas dinner, and we were given an excellent choice of set menus in advance so that the guests could choose their meals first. The whole booking process was very easy and we were e-mailed the menu and booking form. Once we arrived at the restaurant, which is located on the 7th floor above a multi-storey car park we were assisted by a very friendly member of staff, who seated us all within ten minutes after we'd all had a drink at the bar. Despite there being twelve of us and the restaurant absolutely full, the service was speedy and efficient, and the waiting staff even drew a small table plan with individual's names to ensure that the correct meal was given to each person; and it worked! Our waitress was very efficient and returned regularly to offer more drinks.

The food itself was fantastic, and I have to say that their pad Thai was the best I've ever had. Even some of the less adventurous of my young staff thoroughly enjoyed their meals, and several of them said they'd love to return with their partners. The atmosphere in the huge dining area was very pleasant, and the views over Guildford were as spectacular as the darkness permitted. Although it wasn’t exactly inexpensive at around £35.00 per head for the Christmas set menu, the quality of the ingredients and the skill of the chefs made it a truly wonderful dining experience for all of us. Had I noticed the lifts before I trudged up the seven flights of stairs to get there, I may have been less breathless when I reached the restaurant. All in all, I'd recommend it to anyone that wants a great meal in pleasant surroundings, and a real bit of Thai culture, to give it a try. I'll certainly be taking my wife there soon.

In my opinion it is just okay, but not worth it. The food is average and the atmosphere is nice, but it is crazily expensive.

This is my favourite restaurant, excellent service, a wide choice of good food, and lovely ambience whether you're a party of twenty, or there are just two of you.

You are welcomed with a smile, coats stored, shown to a very comfortable cocktail lounge, and given a wide choice of drinks as you look out from on high at the night time view across Guildford. It looks better than you think. When your table is ready the friendly service continues as you are taken into the very stylish, modern and carefully lit restaurant and given a choice of amazing authentic Thai dishes. I have never known the service or food to be anything other than the very best for all kinds of restaurants in the area. You would have to travel a long way to better this, if you can.
