My family and I had the lovely experience of dining at The Vintner in September 2009. It was my golden wedding anniversary. We had a table for ten upstairs, the food was great and the service terrific, and in fact there was nothing to complain about. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a lovely meal in a historic building. I will certainly go again when in the area.

I've just got back from a wonderful two day break in Stratford-Upon-Avon. Last night I was fortunate to have booked a table at The Vintner, and I must say I'm glad I did.

Within seconds we were seated with drinks at a table for two inside the entrance door. Great service from the outset, and even more so when we asked to be moved to a table away from the door. We had a great table by the top of the steps to the cellar tucked away and felt very private.

All the staff that dealt with us were very friendly, professional and with a great sense of humour. The food that we ordered was delivered to the table very quickly but with no sense of pressure of a rush. All three courses we had were amazingly tasty and cooked to perfection with an unbelievable amount of taste.

20 out of 10 for service, quality, price, in fact everything!

If you read this review and will be paying a visit to Stratford-Upon-Avon, you would be totally stupid not to pay a visit to The Vintner!

I went to the Vintner wine bar for an impeccable three course meal, the food was faultless, as my partner agreed too, the service was fantastic, and the bar staff were magnificent, thank you very much for the unforgettable experience.

We had visited Vintner for the first time yesterday being guests at a wedding who held their wedding breakfast upstairs in the Banqueting room. The huge table which seated twenty one of us was ideal and a great talking point as it enabled everyone to be part of the conversation. The food was faultless, as was the service. The staff were friendly, helpful and had time to explain exactly what was on offer. My choice of medallions of beef fillet with Portobello mushroom, fondant potato and red wine shallot sauce was cooked to perfection as were my starter and pudding. Thank you for such a lovely finish to a lovely day. We shall definitely be back.

Decided to visit the Vintner after researching eating places for a girlie weekend in Stratford. The atmosphere is lovely. We visited for a drink during the day for drinks and the evening. During the day it has a vibrant atmosphere - lovely coffee with various seating arrangements - bar stools, sofas and tables and chairs. The evening was stylish. The staff are friendly. The food is good. Enjoyed just sitting in the bar for several hours with coffee and the paper!

My mother and I ate at this restaurant this weekend past and genuinely could not fault it. We had booked an early table at 5.30 for a leisurely pre-theatre dinner; it’s well situated round the corner from the main house/Swan on Sheep Street and is very cosy and welcoming.

We started tapas style with a bowl of mixed olives and a bread basket which was just enough to take the edge off our hunger without ruining our appetite. We both opted for the fillet steak main and did not regret it, we both found it cooked to perfection, my mother had the mash which smelled delicious whilst I chose dauphinoise potatoes which were lovely.

For desserts we were equally impressed, I had a mango and passion fruit cheesecake and it was so lovely and light (unlike many a 'homemade' one), just finished the meal off perfectly. We thought the bill was exceptionally good value as we had also had a bottle of wine and (with tip) it came in at about £75.

I should mention that the service throughout was also fantastic - attentive, friendly and very welcoming, this combined with the quality and atmosphere will ensure that we will definitely return on our next visit to Stratford.
