We were rather disappointed with the service there. We sat in the restaurant area waiting for someone to come and take our order. No one came and there didn't appear to be any staff covering the area. It was 1pm and strange to find somewhere that ignored tables during the lunch period. Eventually we gave up and went to the bar seating area and ordered at the bar instead. After a long wait we received tasteless and undercooked meat in minimalist style portions. No one came to clear our table of the empty glasses. For the money you pay you can definitely get better elsewhere.

We went to the Fire Station feeling a bit apprehensive after reading some bad reviews. But was very pleasantly surprised. We enjoyed a beer in the lively bar area first, and then moved to the quieter restaurant. Friendly, prompt service from staff - two out of three main courses were excellent. The fish tasted very good but the rib-eye steak was not great. All three desserts were excellent with good portions all around. The wine was very quaffable - including a delicious South African dessert wine. Good value for money, considering the location. I will go back.

It was my second visit to The Fire Station but I will not be going back. Three of us had steak that was cooked badly, not medium rare and nicely dark pink and juicy in the middle, but literally raw in the middle instead. The meat was fatty, even fillet had big chunks of fat and was flavourless. It is so simple to get good ingredients to make tasty dishes. The service too, was awful, with the bread for the mussels coming late. It took the staff ages to clear the plates and bring the bill. The only redeeming feature was that one of us, was pleased with the lamb shank.

We'd just got home from a cracking night out in the fire station, totally unplanned. We pulled through having met off a train in Waterloo, for a pint. We'd asked a friendly member of the bar team for a menu and we decided to go through to the restaurant and eat.
It was the best meal I've had in London for years, and all of my friends agreed we'd go back next time they're in London. We couldn't fault the place, a great atmosphere, with staff who can cope with the pressure and really make it look effortless and fun.

If I could, I'd eat here every day. The menu is imaginative and changes so regularly you could never get bored. The food is always seasonal, diverse and freshly prepared. The wine range has come on a long way too. I never thought I'd be a fan of Austrian wine, but after a deliciously zingy bottle of Greuner Veltliner (it's like fresh green apples in a bottle) recommended by our friendly waiter I'm converted. Cheers.

One of my favourite places. The food is freshly cooked using fresh (not frozen ingredients) and the menu covers a good range of meals. My favourites are the salmon steak, the duck breast and the calf’s liver. The atmosphere is good, usually quite busy and fairly noisy. Very relaxed and informal with good friendly service.
