I've often travelled 40 miles for the Sunday roast! We were there on Easter Sunday and I decided that the roast beef followed by the treacle tart and ice cream would have to be my ‘death row’ last meal.

The members of staff were friendly and efficient. I heard the landlady ordering game for the following day. The food was very good as was the service.

Has to be one of the best places to eat in Woodstock. Have been here a number of times, and have recommended it too many people, and they have all sung its praises afterwards. Steak is excellent, as is the choice on the specials board which is interesting and changed regularly. They have a great wine choice, all of which is available by the glass, as well as the bottle, and you're not charged extra for having by the glass (the odd wine is 5p or 10p more per glass!). Excellent home baked bread, fantastic homemade desserts, all in all a true gem.

The best Roast Beef I've ever had.
