9 Cellars Restaurant
Chef Thakur, the winner of the International Chef of the Year competition in 2007, is perhaps as well known as this eatery itself. Rather than being called an Indian restaurant, they like to refer to themselves as a team that specialises in Indian food.

A Room in Leith and Teuchters Landing
Located in a building that takes us back in time, Teuchters Landing was the waiting room for steamship passengers, who used to embark at Leith Docks for the ferry to Aberdeen. The whole place has now had a major facelift, and, having cleverly retained the really historic bits, they then added an elegant conservatory, which has become the restaurant 'a room in Leith', promising a warm welcome to locals and visitors to Edinburgh.

A Room in the Town
This excellent restaurant is located in the heart of Edinburgh's architectural showpiece, the New Town. With 50 covers it is not big, but very cosy, and they operate a BYOW policy, even though they are licensed, in the light of which they take a very modest corkage fee.
