Bigos

Should you wonder how a Polish restaurant can justify opening up in Scotland's capital city, rest assured that there are reputed to be some twenty thousand Polish workers who have arrived in Scotland in the last two years with the intention of honing the Scottish economy and their own wellbeing.

Bisque Bar and Brasserie

The attitude of so many hotels to their dining facilities leaves much to be desired, but here is one which cheerfully acknowledges the wealth of restaurants in Edinburgh and has no hesitation in joining in the competition.

  • Address: Best Western Bruntsfield Hotel, 69 Bruntsfield Place, Edinburgh, EH10 4HH (Map)
  • Cuisine(s): Modern British, Scottish
  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: £25.00, Dinner: £27.00

Bistro at Hotel du Vin - Edinburgh

We hear a great deal about recycling these days - du Vin recycles attractive but un-loved buildings to restore real gems in the best tradition of British understated style. Complement that with all that is best in the French bistro ethos, bars that reach out to please, and you have a setting that provides an inspirational background for people to meet, do business, get married, provide a base for golf or fishing, somewhere you can call your own for a private celebration, a spa or - most engagingly - a wine school that breaks the mould.

  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: £12.00, Dinner: £18.00

Black Bo's Restaurant

This child-friendly vegetarian restaurant has been around a long time but it has not lost its flair for the fraternity. Located next door to a quite active pool room, if that's not a contradiction in terms, it has a cosy candlelit ambience which greatly assists those who are here as much for the atmosphere as the grub.

  • Address: 57-61 Blackfriar's Street, Edinburgh, EH1 1NB (Map)
  • Cuisine(s): Vegetarian
  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: £12.00, Dinner: £34.00

Blue Bar Cafe

Blue has survived the re-entry stage and is now well established as one of the fun places to eat in Edinburgh's theatre quarter. Poised above Atrium, and another living testimony to the durability of the brasserie concept, Blue offers a value for money menu which takes no prisoners when it comes to imagination.

  • Address: 10 Cambridge Street, Edinburgh, EH1 2ED (Map)
  • Cuisine(s): Modern British
  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: N/A, Dinner: £43.00

Bombay Bicycle Club

Presumably somebody thought the Indian Cavalry Club in Edinburgh had it their own way for too long, but if that is the case they are wide of the mark. The BBC is your ordinary, straightforward curry house with no frills, good food and it bears little or no resemblance to the ICC which for many is in a class of its own.

  • Address: 6 Broughton Street, Edinburgh, EH3 9HW (Map)
  • Cuisine(s): Indian
  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: N/A, Dinner: N/A

Featured Group Restaurant

  • TGI Friday's - EdinburghTGI Friday's - Edinburgh Should you feel an American moment coming on, get straight into the mood at a TGI Friday's.
