Cafe Rouge - Edinburgh

Café Rouge has around one hundred branches throughout Britain all offering a wide range of dishes drawn from the French cuisine. Slightly less than half their branches are in or close to London. Almost inevitably the décor and design of each restaurant differs from the others, but there is a general curtsy towards La France.

Cafe Royal Circle Bar

This historic institution is a wonderful place in which to regain your equilibrium after having had your first glimpse of the new Scottish Parliament building. Founded as a bar and restaurant in 1817 it moved to its present premises in the heyday of Victorian building and, having survived WW2 had a narrow escape later when Woolworths sought the site.

Cafe St. Honore

Discreetly tucked away in one of the New Town's secretive little alleys, Le Café has been described as 'Edinburgh on a plate'. This gastronomic tribute to the ancient entente cordiale as applied to Scotland is entirely merited for here the best of Scottish and French cooking blend to ensure a steady stream of enthusiasts, not to say connoisseurs, beating a path to the doors of Le Café.
