The restaurant at the family-run Pier Hotel in Kilmun serves modern British cuisine in a lively vibrant ambience. Nestled on the north shore of Holy Loch, the hotel is run by Ian and Estralita Murray and offers beautiful views of the Cowal peninsula. In the belief that food is also an art form, an association with the Vibrant Arts Movement presents a unique culinary experience blending live music, fine dining and vibrant art. Dinner in the restaurant offers cullen skink, smoked salmon with oatcakes and horseradish cream, moules marniere, beer battered cod and chips, tiger prawn salad, smoked haddock with Cheddar cheese and spinach, haggis and black pudding in a whisky sauce, beef lasagna, steak Balmoral, and surf and turf. Lunch fare could consist of tomato and mozzarella salad, sandwiches of prawn mayonnaise, garlic mushrooms, and cheese and tuna melt, macaroni cheese with chutney and langoustines fried in garlic and parsley butter. Soft drinks served here include elderflower, ginger and lemongrass, and blackberry and blueberry presse.
