Blair’s Restaurant

Book Online

Built in 1878 by one, Soapy Ogston, a local businessman, in the style much favoured by Queen Victoria and Albert for Balmoral. Ardoe House is now one of the leading hotels in Aberdeen and a great favourite with the oil barons.

  • Cuisine(s): International
  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: N/A, Dinner: N/A

B-Lo Cafe Restaurant

B-Lo Café and Restaurant, in Montrose, may look rather unpretentious from the front, but delve further, and behind it you will discover a delightful sunlit courtyard with cosy tables surrounded by plum trees.

  • Address: 41 Market Street, Montrose, DD10 8NB (Map)
  • Cuisine(s): European, Scottish, Seafood
  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: £14.00, Dinner: £28.00

Blue Bar Cafe

Blue has survived the re-entry stage and is now well established as one of the fun places to eat in Edinburgh's theatre quarter. Poised above Atrium, and another living testimony to the durability of the brasserie concept, Blue offers a value for money menu which takes no prisoners when it comes to imagination.

  • Address: 10 Cambridge Street, Edinburgh, EH1 2ED (Map)
  • Cuisine(s): Modern British
  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: N/A, Dinner: £43.00

Blue Moon 2

Located in the centre of Aberdeen in a quiet little street linking two busy thoroughfares, Blue Moon 2 is well placed for providing an interesting option for lovers of quality Indian food, their two course lunch - even including coffee - at only £5.

  • Address: 1 Alford Lane, Aberdeen, AB10 1YB (Map)
  • Cuisine(s): Indian
  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: £9.00, Dinner: £24.00

Bombay Bicycle Club

Presumably somebody thought the Indian Cavalry Club in Edinburgh had it their own way for too long, but if that is the case they are wide of the mark. The BBC is your ordinary, straightforward curry house with no frills, good food and it bears little or no resemblance to the ICC which for many is in a class of its own.

  • Address: 6 Broughton Street, Edinburgh, EH3 9HW (Map)
  • Cuisine(s): Indian
  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: N/A, Dinner: N/A

Bonars Restaurant

  • Address: Poldrate Mill, Tyne House, nr Haddington, EH41 4AD (Map)

  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: N/A, Dinner: N/A

Bothy Restaurant, The

Another new entrant in the Glasgow eating-out stakes just as my sister-in-law heads permanently for open country in the Borders. She would be as mesmerised as I am to find that the famous Irn-Bru has spawned a sorbet.

  • Address: 11 Ruthven Lane, Hillhead, Glasgow, G12 9BG (Map)
  • Cuisine(s): Scottish
  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: £15.00, Dinner: £24.00

Bouzy Rouge - Glasgow

Bouzy Rouge is a small chain of gourmet restaurants, which successfully repels the notions that even a small chain's food can only achieve a certain level, and in any case has to be expensive. The chain themselves refer to their 'casual gourmet' approach.

  • Address: 111 West Regent Street, Glasgow, G2 2RU (Map)
  • Cuisine(s): International, Mediterranean
  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: £12.00, Dinner: £22.00

Braeval Restaurant

  • Address: Braeval, nr Aberfoyle, FK8 3UY (Map)
  • Cuisine(s): Scottish
  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: N/A, Dinner: £32.00

Braidwoods Restaurant

Voted Scotland Restaurant of the Year by The Good Food Guide in 2002 and housed in two simple cottages in the midst of a distinctly rural setting, Braidwoods seeks to use its limited seating to the maximum, aided by good front-of-house style and management.

  • Address: Drumastle Mill Cottage, nr Kilwinning, KA24 4LN (Map)
  • Cuisine(s): Modern, Scottish
  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: £24.00, Dinner: £42.00
