A country house restaurant in rolling countryside just beyond the boundaries of Petersfield and very much a family home. Start with the smoked salmon and basil roulade and progress to the ballantine of quail filled with a light duck mousse.

Restaurant at the Southdowns Country Hotel

A most attractive country house hotel which excels in all departments. The elegant restaurant offers top of the range cuisine. Start with honeydew and cantaloup melon topped with gingered apples and finished with cassis coulis, while the chicken supreme filled with Stilton and wrapped in Parma ham makes an excellent main course, and why not end your meal with a marbled chocolate terrine with a dribble of butterscotch sauce? House wine at £13.
