Who says you always need those pub classics with a pint of lager? At King William IV choose from a range of vegetarian dishes such as baked filo parcels stuffed with feta cheese, spinach, nutmeg and walnuts, served with a blue cheese fondue, and vegetarian sausages and colcannon mash with crispy leeks and mature cheddar sauce.

To appease your meat cravings there are some exciting entrées like Thai fishcakes with pickled cucumber noodles and chilli jam, and smoked chicken and pistachio terrine enclosed in Parma ham with spiced pear chutney. The 'dishes of distinction' section on the menu could feature fillet of beef with Roquefort crust, horseradish rösti, spinach and port jus, and the chef's homemade fish pie.

If the name is any indication, then the décor should have an old world feel to it, and yes it does, with oak beams, deep booths, and eclectic knick knacks adorning the walls.
