1861 Restaurant

With a shared passion for good food and warm service it was only natural for Simon and Kate King to open 1861 Restaurant and the rest, as they say, is history. Yes, there is history in evidence everywhere, for one the building, dating back to 1861, resembles a Victorian station and is surrounded by a white picket fence, and inside is simply decorated with wooden beams, whitewashed walls and dark-wood tables.

Angel Inn

I was always under the impression that stern Welsh religion, as practised in many a Salem chapel, and angels, did not make theological harmony, but I could be wrong. Certainly the Angel Inn in Salem ministers to the needs not only of the village of that name but an also an ever increasing flock from further afield, fired up by the simple but judiciously selected lunches.

Angel Inn and Capel Bach Bistro, The

A wonderful Welsh medley of a hotel, former chapel and bags of atmosphere of that uniquely Welsh variety; all combining to make this one of the best of its kind in Carmarthenshire, even though the competition is not that extensive.

  • Address: 62 Rhosmaen Street, Llandeilo, SA19 6EN (Map)
  • Cuisine(s): Bistro, Modern British, Bar
  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: N/A, Dinner: £39.00

Armless Dragon

Book Online

A long-standing feature of the Cardiff scene, Armless Dragon has established a reputation for reliability and a certain Welshness which tends to please both patriots and visitors. Seasonal variations are reflected well in the menu with fish as a main item.

ASK - Cardiff

For some time I made the mistake of thinking that no group of restaurants in the region of 200 locations could hope to maintain the quality for which I was looking. Then one day I decided to put my prejudices to the test, walked into Oxford Ask! and discovered that I could not have been more mistaken.

  • Cuisine(s): Pizza & Pasta
  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: N/A, Dinner: £22.00

Something of a rival to Pizza Express these days, Ask! restaurants mainly serve good value pizzas and pasta dishes in a relaxing atmosphere. Their rather trendy décor usually comprises of tiled floors, black furniture and tablecloths.

  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: N/A, Dinner: £22.00

Austrian Restaurant, The

The Austrian's cosy atmosphere makes customers feel like they've been going there for ages even if it's their first visit. The inviting little Dwygyfylchi refuge was established in 1989 by Fredi and Judith, who have since, turned many customers into lasting friends.

Featured Group Restaurant

  • Nando's - SwanseaNando's - Swansea With quality food, friendly staff, quick service and excellent value for money, Nando's is a great place to eat. Don't expect identikit, pre-fab restaurant interiors which are usually a staple of the larger chains; each restaurant is tailored to its local surroundings and customers, offering up a unique restaurant experience to go with the equally unique taste of legendary, Portuguese, Peri-Peri chicken.
